This position will be part of the Multimedia Services department. We support Conferencing spaces, events, and technologies for MetLife. This will be a full time in office role at the MetLife Cary, NC corporate office, M - F.
The Opportunity
The Multimedia Engineer will be responsible for providing meeting and event support in MetLife’s conference center and meeting rooms as well as providing support for MetLife critical meeting events. This role is also responsible for the ongoing support, troubleshooting, and maintenance of multimedia systems and equipment. This candidate will have proven experience supporting live events, executive level meetings, and events. They should have an in depth understanding of multimedia process, equipment, and operations. The Multimedia Engineer is responsible for supporting and assisting with high level meetings in the MPR and Conference Center. They will also be key in operating the equipment in these spaces, as well as assisting as a technical resource as needed. You’ll collaborate closely with the multimedia, streaming, events, and collaboration teams in an environment where every contribution is respected and heard.
- Provides Technical Support for Events, Meetings & Live Productions.
- Installs, configures, operates, and maintains AV equipment (projectors, sound systems, microphones, etc.) in meeting spaces.
- Assists event organizers and presenters with technical needs before, during, and after meetings, events, and live productions.
- Troubleshoots basic AV equipment malfunctions and provides Tier 2 support for more complex issues, potentially escalating to higher levels if needed.
- Ensures AV systems have the latest firmware and software updates.
- Collaborates with production teams to ensure a smooth and successful live event.
- Maintains AV Equipment and Technology.
- Manages events in multipurpose rooms, conference rooms, and other meeting spaces.
- Oversees and maintains all AV equipment in assigned spaces.
- Proactively monitors and maintains in-room video production equipment used for live productions.
- Manages ITSM and daily email and phone requests related to AV equipment and support.
- Maintains industry training and certifications, as needed to support the Multimedia systems and environment.
- Works with internal teams to ensure set up and break down of furniture, room cleanliness, and other necessary tasks to create a high-quality meeting experience.
Additional Responsibilities
- Acts as a multimedia tools advocate, educating end-users about capabilities and conducting training sessions.
- Documents processes, solutions to common problems, and user guides.
- Collaborates with internal and external vendors to resolve complex user issues.
- Performs advanced technical support functions for Multimedia systems, including troubleshooting computer systems and software applications.
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Required
- Minimum 5 years of experience supporting and troubleshooting AV equipment in a corporate, live, or similar environment.
- Strong understanding of audio-visual concepts and equipment, with excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with displays, microphones, video conferencing technologies.
- Experience supporting and live production events and equipment.
- Ability to interpret CAD drawings and system design diagrams.
- Excellent customer service skills and a professional demeanor.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, email, and internet applications.
Preferred
- Crestron certifications and/or network certification (NVX a plus).
- Experience with production level video switching systems (Analog Way a plus).
- Experience with production level digital audio consoles (Allen & Heath a plus).
- Experience with Dante audio routing.
- Experience with Digital Signage and IPTV infrastructure.
- CTS Certification (preferred).
- Familiarity with network connectivity, digital signal flow, and firmware/software updates (preferred).
- Experience with Cisco video conferencing technologies (preferred).
