Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to work with elementary-grade students in a supportive and collaborative school environment. This role includes teaching Math and Reading to a caseload of approximately 13 students. The contract is for the school year and offers the chance to make a lasting difference in the lives of children with diverse learning needs.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
- Teach core subjects such as Math and Reading to elementary-grade students.
- Use effective classroom management techniques to foster a positive and engaging learning environment.
- Collaborate with educators, therapists, parents, and school staff to support student progress.
- Adapt teaching methods to meet the unique needs of students with autism, developmental disabilities, or behavioral challenges.
- Administer and interpret assessments to monitor and guide student growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- NH Special Education Certification or willingness to obtain certification.
- Experience working with students with autism, developmental disabilities, or behavioral challenges.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Familiarity with IEP development and implementation.
- Previous experience in an educational setting is a plus.
