KBR is seeking a PEER AND FAMILY EDUCATOR to support our SPARC Team for KBR’s Science and Space division.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Peer and Family Educators organize and execute all facets of community partner engagement, stakeholder management, and direct service member and veteran interactions for their assigned commands.
- Peer and Family Educators shall be responsible for collecting and reporting data for the purposes of formative and outcome evaluations of this outreach initiative and other community-based programs.
- Peer and Family Educators shall collect original data and data from secondary sources in support of program assessment and continuous improvement. This data includes but is not limited to: daily encounters with community members and partners, activation of website engagements, training and education initiatives, donor registrations, among other critical information and data needs.
- Peer and Family Educators shall support all aspects of community partnership, events outreach initiatives in coordination with the Marketing Technical Lead assigned to the region as well as other Peer and Family Educators and Donor Team members assigned to the region.
- Peer and Family Educators shall develop and provide needs-based programming, prevention programs, and supports to service specific demographic groups and geographic locations.
- Peer and Family Educators shall also have extensive knowledge of DoD and VA resources, such as the Military OneSource, Military Family Life Counselors (MFLC), Personal Financial Counselors (PFC), and Military Crisis Line and aligned community-based resources.
- Peer and Family Educators shall lead and/or assist in the coordination and/or development of official processes, functions and networking opportunities for subpopulations served.
- Establish, maintain, and report activity of field activity for the supported region.
- Report activity using specified reporting tools and frequency identified by the Senior Program Manager, Outreach and Education Manager, or other leadership team members.
- Conduct and/or contribute to unit level career transition programs for military members and spouses
- Maintain awareness of and conduct or contribute to education/communication of installation and/or local community behavioral health and resiliency resources; lead, establish, and maintain local and community coalitions and collaboratives
- Assist with development of standard operating procedures and service provision protocols.
- Coordinate, with site coordinator, education and referrals regarding the benefits of brain donation for tissue research
- Assist site coordinator in developing relationships, and processes that support awareness of, support for, and activation of registration or consent to the donation program.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
This position requires US Citizenship.
• Able to pass and maintain appropriate certifications and security clearances for this position.
• A bachelor’s degree in education, human/social services, marketing/sales or related field or four years’ experience providing social service education, or work/family life consultation or coordination services.
• Must have a minimum of two years’ experience executing research and/or health promotion, community initiatives, or education activities preferably for military-connected families.
• Shall have, or be willing to receive, specialized training on peer support counseling, community resources and referrals, suicide prevention best practices trainings, training and coordination with local resources to execute mission.
• Must remain current on their knowledge of best practices and developments in areas of peer support counseling and suicide prevention, and will keep abreast of DoD, Services and community sponsored resources intended to promote the wellbeing of service members and their families.

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Ability to read, write and speak Spanish.
- Previous experience working with military and veteran families and/or community partners who engage with these audiences.
