Overview
In this role, you will be involved in the water and wastewater market, and be responsible for generating leads, advancing the sales process, and achieving/assisting in opportunity-based sales quotas. You will actively participate in the planning and execution of company marketing activities providing vital input based on your interactions with prospects.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conducts appropriate research to identify target companies/organizations within industry segments denoted in the business unit plan
- Contacts, qualifies, and sets appointments with targets via telephone and electronic means
- Provides targets with appropriate Haskell marketing material and responses to specific interests identified by targets
- Visits qualified targets and/or arranges for personal sales calls by appropriate Haskell personnel
- Prepares qualifications statements and assists in preparing responses to proposals for specific projects
- Develops and maintains relationships with local and national civic, professional, and economic organizations that are sources of prospects
- Maintains up-to-date prospect files and electronic databases
- Represents Haskell at trade shows, conventions, and professional meetings
- Takes other steps as directed by the Director of Business Development to assist in securing additional projects
- Travel as needed (50%+)
Education/Experience:
- Minimum of a 4-year college degree in (Business, Marketing, Engineering or Construction Management preferred)
- Minimum of four years of experience preferably in a related field (e.g. architecture, engineering, construction, sales, and marketing)
Specific Knowledge, Skills, License, Certifications:
- Knowledge in the building design and/or construction industry
- Knowledge of the municipal water and wastewater market (Texas market desired)
- Technical understanding of water treatment processes
- Research experience is a plus with excellent communication, organization, and follow-up skills
- Excellent sales and customer relationship skills
- Self-motivated, with high energy and an engaging level of enthusiasm
- Abilities to work independently, manage time wisely and prioritize tasks
- Strong computer skills (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)

Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, and arm, hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
