RSM is looking for a Supervisor to join our Accounting and Finance Consulting (AFC) practice with a focus on Inventory and Cost Accounting. Changing economies, new accounting policies and evolving tax regulations mean that business and professional services firms face an ever-changing business landscape. Responsibilities:
- Participate in multiple engagements within the Accounting and Finance Consulting practice to provide financial or business advisory guidance to clients
- Support the AFC team on inventory costing projects
- Work collaboratively across service lines to support large inventory projects.
- Demonstrate basic to intermediate knowledge of complex financial accounting concepts
- Commit to maintaining and developing current and effective technical accounting capabilities by leveraging extensive firm resources
- Provide timely, high quality client service that meets or exceeds client expectations including coordinating the development and execution of the consulting work plan and client deliverables
- Collaborate directly with the engagement manager and partner and the client
- Develop an understanding of the client's business and industry and begin to recognize key performance drivers, trends and developments
- Actively participate with engagement team and function as an in-charge facilitating field work by monitoring and reporting regarding productivity and adherence to work plan schedules on each assignment
- Assist in the preparation of technical memos and other client deliverables
- Identify performance improvement opportunities
- Understand RSM’s service lines and work as a team in providing an integrated service delivery
- Recognize and inform management of opportunities to increase level and types of services to clients
- Willingness to travel 25% of the year, depending on clients
Required Qualifications:
- BS/BA Degree in Accounting or equivalent degree
- 3+ years of current or recent experience working in a role that involved cost accounting at a large manufacturer (over $50 million in revenue)
- Strong operational understanding of the manufacturing process.
- Experience working with production team to ensure costing aligns with operational process.
- General understanding of reporting impact of cost accounting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA or equivalent certification

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
Compensation Range: $74,900 - $141,900
Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
