Program Summary
KBR leads the government services world contingency market by providing responsive, full-service logistics support to forces deployed around the world under the Logistics Civil Augmentation Program contract (LOGCAP). KBR’s enduring mission support of the LOGCAP program dates back to 1992 when we served as the contract’s original prime contractor. Today, we have a workforce of over 6,000 people representing 40 nationalities who perform work on the contract in 10 countries.
Job Summary
As a Senior Materials Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the management of inventory, material requirements planning, material requisitions, shipping, receiving, and the update of the Company’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. In this role you will apply your experience and problem-solving skills to enhance processes. In addition, you will offer supervision and guidance, effectively prioritizing and delegating tasks to team members to ensure the timely completion of daily responsibilities and compliance with U.S. Department of Defense and KBR policies and regulations.
Roles and Responsibilities
· Oversee inventory management using the Company’s ERP Systems and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) tools.
· Oversee the development of the Warehouse Authorized Stockage List (ASL) through detailed material requirements planning.
· Process material requisitions using the Company’s ERP System and the Global Combat Support System – Army (GCCS-Army).
· Maintain requisitions visibility processed in supply chains supported by the US Department of Defense and the Company’s commercial procurement activity.
· Oversee the shipping and receiving of materials, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
· Oversee the customs clearance processes with the US Military and the host nation customs offices.
· Solve complex problems using detailed knowledge of the field and industry best practices.
· Utilize experience and problem-solving skills to develop and implement process improvements.
· Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve common goals and objectives.
· Provide guidance, supervision, and mentorship to team members.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications (Required Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)
· Must be able to pass a U.S. Government background investigation and obtain a NACI. Due to this, you must be a U.S. Citizen or a U.S. Green Card holder who has lived within the United States for at least the last 3 years to be eligible for this position.
· Must have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and at least 8 years of hands-on experience in materials management, production control, or a related field. A High School Diploma and an additional 4 years of directly related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
· Requires supervisory experience managing materials operations and teams.
· Requires in-depth knowledge of industry best practices related to materials handling and inventory control.
· Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address complex issues.
· Requires experience working with ERP Systems (Cost Point and GCCS-Army experience preferred).
· Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
· Must be fluent in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Must have a valid state driver’s license with at least 6 months of remaining and an international driver’s license.
· Requires a valid passport with at least 12 months of validity and 6 blank pages.
