Overview
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and supporting technologies that center on the desktop presentation to users as well as the server components and infrastructure that support the desktop environment. Under limited supervision, you will resolve technology issues, interface with vendors for product information and support, and work with end users to ensure high satisfaction levels and reliability of our systems. This position will report onsite at our Atlanta office.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Acting as a single point of contact for in-depth support of desktops, notebooks, mobile devices, and other hardware, including operating system setup and configuration, troubleshooting, remote access, and problem diagnosis
- Utilizing and maintain helpdesk tracking software. Monitor and respond quickly and effectively to requests received through the IT helpdesk
- Working with others in Information Technology to coordinate various IT functions to share solutions and knowledge easily and promptly
- Automating software application deployments; create and test workstation images including testing software packages for workstation distribution
- Interfacing with vendors to expedite solutions to problems
- Providing basic, intermediate, and advanced level training to users on our software and hardware via a formal classroom environment, informal brown-bag gatherings, and one-on-one meetings so our users are as efficient as possible
- Creating and documenting processes relating to user training, software, and hardware rollouts
- Conducting research on desktop products in support of PC procurement and development efforts. Evaluate and recommend products for purchase
- Participating in the testing, integration, configuration, and deployment of end-user hardware, operating systems, and related utilities so that our clients are optimally fitted for their respective tasks
- Keeping abreast of software and hardware trends so that solutions can be provided proactively
- Assessing the impact of introducing non-standard applications into the environment and assist others in Information Technology with the implementation of these applications
- Determining root causes of problems so that solutions and limitations can be identified and repaired
- Providing hands-on and tactical support, training, and project management. Participate in hardware and software rollouts Keep abreast of relevant software and hardware. Ensures client service and satisfaction are attained in all areas of the position
Education/Experience:
- Two-year degree in a computer-related field or equivalent work experience preferred
- Must have experience with Active Directory and Group Policy maintenance
- Experience working with desktop imaging and application software
To thrive in this role, you'll need:
- Thorough knowledge of Windows desktop operating systems
- Thorough knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of mobile devices including iPads, iPhones, and Android

Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, and arm, hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
