The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
Description
Liberty Mutual has an exciting opportunity for a highly qualified transaction attorney focusing on both Federal and State tax credits with at least 7 years of experience. Expertise required in structuring tax equity and tax credit purchase transactions. Seeking an attorney who can structure and assist with negotiations on a deal from term sheet to closing. The new counsel will be joining a collegial and experienced team of attorneys responsible for providing legal assistance to Liberty Mutual Group's investment department with approx.. $100 Billion in AUM. As a Home Office Counsel, the attorney will work closely with Liberty’s investment professionals to due diligence, structure, negotiate and document transactions from beginning to end, providing legal advice and structuring insight while maintaining high standards of legal and business ethics and professional responsibility.
Position requires three days in person presence at Boston headquarters Tuesday through Thursday.
Typical Starting Salary for this role is $180,601-$209,100
Responsibilities:
1. Provide legal advice to Liberty Mutual Investments.
2. Lead complex transactions (including coordinating due diligence, structuring, negotiating and documenting transactions) with a strong appreciation of deadlines.
3. Maintain current knowledge of legal issues and developments in the law.
4. Ability to mentor and cross-train other investment attorneys.
5. Solid communication and presentation skills.
6. Solid working knowledge of federal and state tax credits.
Qualifications
- Requirements include excellent oral and written communication skills, client focus, managing multiple priorities, attention to detail and demonstrated ability to conduct research and analysis of legal issues. Within certain practice groups, may require in-depth knowledge of a specialized area of law. Completion of law school with a J.D. or L.L.B. degree and admission to the bar of at least one jurisdiction in the United States required.
- Generally requires at least seven years` experience as a practicing attorney.
