Overview
As a
Floor Tech Janitorial Service, the purpose of the position is to be able to function as part of a specialized crew member to strip and wax all tie floors, burnish floors, and shampoo/bonnet carpets which include but are not limited to specific duties such as cleaning offices, bathrooms, vacuuming all rugs, mopping all hard services areas.

Pay Rate: 18.00 per hour
Location: Dulles International Airport
Job Classification: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Shift:
- 21:30 to 06:00 (Overnight Full-Time Shift)
- MUST BE WILLING TO WORK ON Saturday, Sunday, and three days from the weekdays. (total of 5 consecutive working days). You will have two days consecutive days off between Monday and Friday.
As a janitorial service floor tech the purpose of the position is to be able to function as part of a specialized crew member to strip and wax all tie floors, burnish floors, and shampoo/bonnet carpets which include but are not limited to specific duties such as cleaning offices, bathrooms, vacuuming all rugs, mopping all hard services areas.
Specific Duties/Essential Job Functions: (Other duties may be assigned)
- Ability to work in a teamwork environment
- Ensure familiarity with all areas of the operation within the service area/location
- Ability to complete assigned tasks on time while complying company’s expectations, rules, and procedures
- Ability to handle hazardous and sometimes significantly unpleasant conditions
- Mop all hard service floor
- Vacuum all carpets and mopping all floors
- Dust all furniture and fixture
- Clean bathrooms (male & female) remove garbage from receptacles and replenish all paper products.
- Wash sink and hardware and backsplash. Clean/polish water cooler
- Clean ticket counter, podium, tops, fronts, sides, stainless steel
- Assuring the proper handling of hazardous material, correct use of uniform, safety vest, ear plugs, and safety behavior actions inside and outside the aircraft.
- Ability to maintain professionalism in appearance and manners towards co-workers, clients, and any other person within the airport and work location.
- Monitor safety program within the area of responsibilities and communicate with Safety Quality Managers frequently to ensure compliance with all Company safety standards.
- Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with passengers, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, managers, etc
- Comply with all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the Company, Clients, and regulatory authorities.

Physical Demands:
- Able to lift 70 pounds or more.
- Able to move, bend, squat, walk, and run quickly; sometimes within a small and /or narrow space and long distances as well.
Specific Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability:
Finger Dexterity:
- Uses the hands to be able to load, clean, drive, trash, and grasp objects securely
Talking:
- Bilingual and or Basic English is a must while being able to communicate face to face and/ or by radio; often quickly, under pressure, and with environmental interference
Hearing:
- Enough to maintain a conversation which would allow receiving information as well as instructions to be followed
Visual Abilities:
- Acuity enough to enable to operate equipment/cleaning material
Language Skills/Ability:
- Ability to communicate with people from different walks of life.
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to deal with a variety of variables under some standardization.
- Ability to interpret various instructions
General Company Requirements:
- Employees must comply with the Company’s management grooming standards and must wear his or her SIDA badge/Airport ID at all times.
- Employees must comply with all guidelines and policies outlined in the ABM Aviation Employee Handbook. These policies include, but are not limited to, the Company’s Zero Tolerance Discrimination and Harassment Policy, Retaliation Policy, Ethics Policy, and Security Policy. Employees must also comply with regulatory agency requirements, including, but not limited to, the ADA, ACAA, DOT, TSA, FAA, and Federal, State, and Local authorities.
Education:
- High school graduate or GED
- Ability to plan, organize, and follow instruction
- Ability to operate floor and carpet equipment
- Be able to lift, push, and carry 70 lbs. or more
- Ability to work under pressure, stressful environment, and time constraints
Skills / Experience:
- 3 or more years of management experience preferred
- Previous aviation industry experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Budgeting, expense control, and scheduling experience
Overall:
- Must meet all requirements to receive required airport SIDA badge, and Customs Seal, including successful completion of a background check and ten-year work history.
- Must be willing to work on Saturday, Sunday, and three days from the weekdays. (total of 5 days)
- You will have two consecutive day-offs in between Monday and Friday
