Our mission is to make security intuitive, performant, and secure. We build highly reliable and scalable services and developer-friendly infrastructure that enable engineering teams across the company to create and integrate secure features and proactively protect our members’ data. We are responsible for securing all of LinkedIn’s microservices, big data, and large scale data systems such as Kafka.
As a Manager of the Security Infrastructure team at LinkedIn, you will play a crucial role in our ongoing efforts to drive the vision for our security infrastructure architecture, features, and capabilities. This is a high-profile, high-impact role that will touch every aspect of our engineering organization, and we are looking for experienced professionals who have a proven track record of leading engineering teams that can design and develop large-scale security infrastructure by collaborating with teams across a large organization. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team responsible for designing and delivering solutions that will enable LinkedIn to scale its security infrastructure and services to meet the demands of a rapidly growing user base. This will involve managing a team of experienced engineers to develop and operate solutions that are robust, scalable, and efficient. You will also need to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and be comfortable operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:
· Directly responsible for a team of 5-10 engineers.
· Lead and manage the engineering team with a passion for mentoring and growing top engineering talent.
· Work closely with various other teams ( Applications, Infrastructure teams, etc.) to align on initiatives, leveraging existing solutions, and ensure optimal collaboration.
· As a hands-on manager, you will participate in key technical and design discussions with technical leads in the team.
· Define and leverage best practices for engineering and research to ensure optimal productivity and drive faster iterations.
· Attract world class talent and provide technical guidance, career development, and mentoring to team members.
· Be a role model and professional coach for engineers with a strong bias for action and focus on craftsmanship.
· Design and deliver world-class high-performance authentication, authorization, secret management, and cryptography solutions for our data centers.
Basic Qualifications:
· BS/BA in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent technical experience
· 1+ year(s) of management experience or 1+ year(s) of staff level engineering experience with management training
· 5+ years industry experience in software design, development, and delivery
· 5+ years programming experience in object-oriented programming languages such as Python, Java, Golang, C/C++, C#, Objective-C, or Ruby.
· Experience in large-scale compute infrastructure and large scale distributed systems
Preferred Qualifications:
· MS or PhD in Computer Science or related technical discipline
· 3+ years of hands-on technical management experience
· 7+ years of industry experience
· 3+ years experience in security
· Experience in the design and development of performant, highly available, scalable web applications
· Successful track record of managing teams of engineers to deliver multiple projects on time and with quality
· Hire and retain world-class engineers by providing career growth, mentoring, and high impact projects, while taking intelligent risks to improve the way work is done
· Experience with building and deploying PKI and key management at scale
· Experience in building and deploying application authentication and authorization infrastructure (e.g OAuth)
· Experience in isolating k8s workloads to improve security and performance.

The pay range for this role is $174,000-240,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
