Job Description: Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP)

Position Summary
The QIDP is a professional position responsible for the continuous program training and implementation necessary to provide active treatment for the residents. The QIDP is supervised directly by the Residential Services Director. The QIDP is responsible for Habilitation Planning and the development of programs deemed necessary by the Interdisciplinary Team.
The QIDP will be responsible for monitoring programs being implemented at the group home and in the day program setting. The QIDP will be responsible for training and implementing new programs at their site, as well as orientating all new staff members on residential programs. The QIDP will work closely with the House Coordinators to ensure program implementation and all documentation is completed.
Responsibilities
Ultimately, the job of the QIDP is to develop staff/resident relations in accordance with both company and State policies. This includes:
- Reports managerial concerns to Residential Services Director.
- Manages day-to-day operations of the assigned group home.
- Ensures resident rights are protected at all times.
- Conducts habilitation plan meeting and writes Annual Plan per IDT manual.
- Writes and revises programs as needed and within the appropriate time frame.
- Completes monthly QIDP notes and quarterly notes for each resident and leads quarterly program review.
- Schedules and conducts interim team meetings as needed.
- Meets with consultants as needed, to address resident issues and needs
- Monitors the ongoing active treatment of each resident through at least weekly observation at home or day program.
- Ensures program consistency and coordination at the day program through regular monitoring and follow-up.
- Attends IEP meetings and ensures the development of IEP guidelines to integrate goals into the home setting.
- Attends day programs meetings and conducts observations to ensure appropriate training for residents during day placement.
- Responsible for procurement and the development of work tasks, leisure, and program materials. This includes developing residents’ daily schedules; ensuring schedule cards/objects are current, with the assistance of the House Coordinator.
- Responsible for ensuring work tasks are developed from current Annual Plans and incorporating them into daily activities with the assistance of the House Coordinator.
- Maintains appropriate contact with day programs and families or guardians.
- Provides information to Utilization Review Committee.
- Leads staff meetings with House coordinators to provide ongoing feedback to staff.
- Provide training for staff in programs, and program documentation and maintains a record of training with the House Coordinator.
- Complete IRIS reporting.
- Other duties as assigned.
Success Criteria
Primary criteria for success are resident and employee affinity. Success is measured around resident satisfaction and employee advocacy. Success criteria include:
- Ensure that all Federal, State, Local, ICF/IDD, and Innovation Wavier Service standards and regulations are adhered to and followed.
- Follow all policies and procedures for the organization.
- Participate as an Administrative Team Member and serve On-Call for a site on a rotating basis, working on shift as needed.
- Actively pursue professional development through education via seminars and training conferences.
- Works with consultants and supporting staff to ensure appropriate services are being provided.
- Provides training for new staff at Orientation and ongoing training for veteran staff.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of personnel.
- Ability to handle physical aspects of the job, including the ability to perform NCI interventions, frequently stooping, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs.; occasionally lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 75 lbs.; reaching; and frequently standing and walking for extended periods of time.
- Independently and consistently completes specific job duties.
- Provides a clean, neat, and organized work environment and home.
- Maintain certification in applicable training, including but not limited to CPR and First Aid, NCI, Medication Administration, Blood Borne Pathogens, TB Skin Test, and complete competency-based training in areas identified by the organization.
- May participate in an amended work schedule.
- Have a working knowledge of Developmental Disabilities gained through education and professional experience.
- Knowledge of educational/training techniques, behavioral intervention and treatment, task analysis, developmental programming, and habilitation program implementation and monitoring.
- Ability to direct others in a positive manner to provide the link between the habilitation plan and program implementation.
Education, Experience, Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field
- One (1) year of professional ICF/IID experience after graduation.
The QIDP requires both a clinical mindset and exceptional leadership skills. Specific skills required include:

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 35 per week
