Where You Will Work
Located approximately 50 miles northeast of Safford, Arizona on U.S. Highway 191, Morenci operations (an open-pit copper mining complex) has been in continuous operation since 1939. The operation consists of two concentrators, crushed-ore leach pad and stacking system, a low-grade run-of-mine (ROM) leaching system; four SX plants; and three EW tank houses that produce copper cathode.

Description
Under general supervision, provides technical expertise, guidance and leadership in Engineering Project Management.
- Reviews and analyzes project requirements to establish tasks and subtasks and project timelines
- Assembles and supervises project staff
- Creates and maintains a database of project tasks and assignments
- Compiles and reports to Management regarding project status
- Serves as technical expert on project management issues
- Evaluates and administers contracts with vendors for the provision of services and equipment
- Maintains current working knowledge of applicable federal, state and local regulations
- Provides guidance and counsel to Site Management team on applicable programs, practices and existing/proposed local, state and federal regulations
- Contributes to site strategic planning and budgeting efforts for project management
- May represent the site on company-sponsored steering teams
- Performs other duties as required
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or closely related area and seven (7) years of Engineering experience in an area or areas relevant to assignment, including supervisory or lead experience as well as prior Project Management experience, OR
- High School diploma and twelve (12) years of Engineering experience in an area or areas relevant to assignment, including supervisory or lead experience as well as prior Project Management experience
- Knowledge of Project Management techniques and practices
- Able to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions
- Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Preferred Qualifications:
- Provide oversite on operation/maintenance process for Tailing, Water, Leaching stockpile system
- Provide Project Program Management (Project Management Overall)
- Engineering and Construction Management
- Project Controls oversite (Change Management Process)
- Procurement Management Oversite (Internal/Consultants)
- Review Long Range Mine Plans and provide high level cost for Project work required
- Understanding of Operation/Maintenance organization (Commodity Base Organization)
- Understand the Different Project Management approaches and Criticality of work being performed
Criteria/Conditions
- Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English
- Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
- Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment
- Work is in a mine or manufacturing plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and see
- Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects up to thirty (30) pounds during the course of the workday
- Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required
What We Offer You
The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $113,000-$158,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional incentive compensation considerations based on company and individual performance. Additionally, this position is currently eligible for annual long-term incentive consideration. Long-term incentives are contingent upon authorized approval under the terms and conditions of the Company's plan and award agreements. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
