KPMG is currently seeking a Senior Associate in Consumer Compliance for our Consulting practice.
Responsibilities:
- Assist banking and non-banking financial services clients (payment processors, FinTechs, lenders, money service business entities, special purpose depository institutions, among others) with addressing enterprise-wide compliance with one or a combination of the following: consumer protection regulations, safety and soundness, other guidance issued by federal and state regulators, and implementation and/or operation of risk management practices to prevent, detect, and/or remediate non-compliance
- Collect information and data through effective client interviews, system queries, and internal/external research; complete qualitative and quantitative data analysis, identify observations and provide recommendations
- Aid with the design and preparation of presentations and reports, leveraging strong written communication skills; communicate and present information to clients and colleagues in a clear, logical, and concise manner
- Develop and sustain strong relationships with client personnel and KPMG colleagues
- Manage priorities, time and work to meet deadlines; proactively communicate progress, obstacles, and challenges, offering solutions as applicable; leverage knowledge to adjust and adapt as assignments evolve and change
- Remain current on emerging industry and regulatory topics as well as trends and apply insights during the delivery of engagements. support internal initiatives and strategic growth
- Supervise and mentor associates, new hires and interns on engagements while identify and communicate technical regulatory matters to both clients and engagement leadership by participating and/or leading meetings with the client and engagement team
- Demonstrate ownership and management of independent work streams and/or activities; drive the organization and completion of key engagement tasks and deliverables; communicate status and escalates challenges to engagement leadership
- Proactively identify opportunities to enhance professional practices and processes; assist with business development initiatives, including the development of proposals and thought leadership
Qualifications:
- Minimum of three years of recent experience in financial services regulatory compliance with a focus in consumer compliance and safety and soundness regulations, (such as a compliance manager and/or officer, auditor, examiner, advisor, consultant, or regulatory counselor) at a large financial institution, consulting firm, or a federal or state banking agency; professional designations, such as Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) or commissioned examiner is preferred
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university with a preference for Accounting, Finance, Business Management, Law, MIS, Economics, or other qualified business-related degree
- Excellent ability to listen and comprehend new content, including concepts, terminology, business operations; knowledge of federal laws, rules and regulations associated with this consumer regulatory compliance practice
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to work with in teams with diverse work styles and personalities, manage multiple tasks autonomously and prioritize changing workloads
- Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving abilities with strong verbal and written communication skills and general understanding of data analysis techniques
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, supporting the oversight of projects and/or the efforts of others with a well-established understanding of financial services operations and compliance
- Travel as needed
