Position: Site Operations Manager
Reports To: Chief Operating Officer
Description:
The Site Operations Manager role is tasked with driving continuous improvement and optimizing all processes within an automotive mechanical/repair facility providing complex diagnostic and retrofit support to client-owned vehicles before they are delivered to commerce. This role oversees all operations within the plant, which includes automotive mechanical, parts, shipping/receiving, logistics, maintenance, physical security and quality to ensure that maximum operational performance is consistently achieved. This individual must have the key skills to drive all processes that maximize stewardship, safety, quality and productivity with direct oversight of approximately 45 PVS team members at this location. Effective communication to all levels of the organization is an essential element of this job. This position is expected to “roll up” their sleeves and work side by side with the team, as necessary.
Essential Job Functions:
- Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our clients’ expectations, in direct partnership with on-site client(s)
- Increase production, asset capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards
- Manage systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets
- Collect and analyze data to find instances of waste or excessive overtime
- Responsibility for production output, product quality and on-time shipping
- Oversight of overall facility security including all client assets and vehicles
- Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results
- Commit to and further drive plant safety procedures
- Oversight of all time & attendance-related functions for PVS team members at this location
- Insert appropriate corrective actions where required
- Build a strong relationship with workgroup and recruit, manage and develop the plant team
- Address team member issues or grievances and administer corrective action in partnership with Human Resources
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred, but not required
- 3+ years of progressive leadership experience is a plus
- Experience working in an automotive manufacturing / production environment
Requires the Following Skills:
- Excellent communication, both oral and written. Must be able to communicate effectively via telephone, email and written means
- Proven knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources and profit & loss)
- Familiarity with automotive industry standard equipment and technical expertise
- Knowledgeable in areas of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory, security and stewardship processes
- Computer literacy- ability to produce Excel & PowerPoint information and present capably, as needed
- Ability to create accountability and to lead by example
- Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills
