Program Supervisor
The Fall River Deaconess Home is a private, non-profit, community-based agency serving youth and their families with a comprehensive continuum of residential, educational, clinical, medical, and supportive services. Our agency provides services in a trauma-informed environment designed to create a therapeutic environment to enrich the lives of youth from Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
Job Profile
This position requires commitment to the youth and families served and seeks individuals willing to work as a team. The successful candidate will have the following 48-hour sleep-in shift. This is a set schedule including a weekly Wednesday staff meeting to equal a 54-hour work week.
Schedule
Sunday 2:45pm – Tuesday 3:30pm
Wednesday: 9am-3pm (staff meeting)
The successful candidate will:
- Organize each day’s activities
- Assign tasks to Direct Care Staff
- Assist in daily milieu activities
- Role model and support safe and socially appropriate skills, including personal care, boundaries, interpersonal and group relationships, and activities of daily living
- Supervise staff on shift, assisting them to deliver consistent, engaging, and therapeutic services
- Implementation of program routines, including activities, food preparation and clean-up, care of the group’s living environment, care of personal space, clothing, and personal items, basic budgeting, shopping, and banking
- Work in a strength-based, culturally competent, and flexible manner
- Supervise staff performance
- is a resource regarding the content, purpose, and proper implementation of program routines
- meets with staff to give clear direction and feedback regarding their performance
- Oversee implementation of the site’s weekly schedule of routine and non-routine activities to ensure it is
- delivered as planned
- includes time allotted in for educational, vocational, clinical, health and daily living skills services
- acknowledges the individuality, diversity, and cultural and linguistic traditions of residents and their identified family members
- supports phone contact and visits with identified family and visiting resources
- provides access to the community, including opportunities
- Fulfill and maintain program maintenance routines such as
- petty cash, resident allowances, purchase of site supplies and cleaning products
- locking up at night
- preparing for shift change, including thorough documentation of shift activities in the Shift Book
- conducting required fire drills
- timely and thorough completion of programmatic record keeping
- Attend the All Staff Meeting and the Youth Advisory Board, as well as required agency meetings and in-service trainings
- Work collaboratively with and support treatment team members responsible for clinical, educational, and health services that are trauma-informed, and designed to improve behavior, provide support, and promote healthy development
- Routinely provide the RTX Program Director with timely information regarding
- resident-specific needs, staffing, program implementation, and site operations
- an assessment of any concerns that arose during a shift, with suggestions to address them
- Understand the philosophy and process of the agency’s behavior support system, and is responsible for its implementation
- Demonstrate proficiency in physical restraint; uses restraint in a safe and effective manner that protects the safety and well-being of service recipients and personnel
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; Associate or bachelor’s degree an advantage
- Experience in an organization which provides services to families, adults, youth and/or children; some supervisory experience helpful
- Valid driver’s license
- Proof of vehicle insurance
- Pass all necessary background checks
- Proven oral and written communication skills
- Candidate must be mature, assertive, organized, able to prioritize and multi-task
- Ability to understand, support, communicate with, and work with clients and their families.
- Ability to work collegially with a variety of individuals inside and outside the organization
