Collections Specialist, Junior
The Opportunity:
As a professional in Business Services, you have the experience and skills to ensure our Delivery Hub operations are effective, efficient, timely, and valuable for internal and external clients. You know how to interface with internal and external customers and leadership to understand needs and gain insight on Business Services performance.
As a member of the Collections Team, you will be responsible for managing customer accounts, ensuring timely collection of outstanding receivables, and maintaining accurate records. Your role will involve auditing and following up on aging receivables, and supporting both internal and external stakeholders with account, policy, procedure, and system-related inquiries. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.
How You’ll Contribute:
- Monitor and manage customer accounts to ensure timely collection of outstanding receivables.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all collection activities.
- Contact customers and the agency via phone and email, to follow up on overdue payments.
- Generate and distribute regular reports on collection activities and outstanding receivables.
- Provide summaries and updates to finance leadership.
- Address and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to customer accounts.
- Coordinate with internal departments to resolve billing and payment issues.
- Ensure all collection activities comply with company policies and relevant regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of customer information.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and concerns promptly.
- Participate in training sessions to stay updated on best practices and regulatory changes.
- Keep detailed records of all communications and actions taken regarding collections.
- Prepare documentation for legal proceedings if necessary.

You Have:
- 2+ years of experience in finance
- Experience with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Experience with customer service
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt accordingly
- HS diploma or GED
Nice If You Have:
- Experience with government or commercial invoice and payment processes
- Experience with Ivalua
- Knowledge of government auditing processes and compliance
- Ability to work independently
- Possession of excellent problem-solving skills
- Possession of excellent analytical skills
- Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $42,600.00 to $87,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
