Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience with NoSQL database technologies (eg. MongoDB, Couchbase)
- Experience managing client-facing projects, troubleshooting technical issues, and working with Engineering and Sales Services teams.
- Experience with database administration techniques or data engineering.
- Experience designing data models and data warehouses and using SQL and NoSQL database management systems.
- If applicable: Ability to communicate fluently in [language(s)]
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in technical consulting.
- Experience with database performance tuning and database management tools for backups, recovery, snapshot management, and partitioning.
- Experience in one of the following: Firestore, Memorystore, Bigtable, MongoDB, DocumentDB, or Couchbase.
- Knowledge of query troubleshooting (e.g. isolating blocks of poor performance, determining root cause, and developing remediation actions).

As a Senior Database Blackbelt, you are expected to be a technical expert in database technologies and should be able to engage with our customers and partners with technical resources, support, and guidance to enable them to build innovative solutions using Google Cloud Native Databases. Additionally, you will work with Product Management and Product Engineering to build and constantly drive excellence in our products.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $171,000-$257,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers and solve complex database architecture and adoption problems.
- Create and deliver best practice recommendations, tutorials, blog articles, sample code, and technical presentations, tailoring approach and messaging to varied levels of business and technical stakeholders.
- Analyze on-premises and cloud database environments and consult on the optimal design for performance and deployment on Google Cloud Platform.
- Advise customers on developing and migrating to document/NoSQL database systems on Google Cloud Platform.
- Work with the team to identify and qualify business opportunities, understand key customer technical objections and develop the strategy to resolve technical blockers, and travel as needed.
