Role Summary/Purpose:
The VP, Microsoft Identity Platforms will lead the engineering, operations, and roadmap execution for Synchrony’s enterprise Active Directory & Entra ID environments.
This is a leadership position reporting into the Authentication & Security Services division within the broader IAM organization. This role will work across organizational boundaries to understand the technology ecosystem and design solutions to drive operational excellence, governance, & oversight of critical enterprise services.

Essential Responsibilities:
Manage the Microsoft Entra & AD engineering team, setting team goals and driving services, while providing ongoing support and feedback to members of the team.
Develop and execute product roadmaps as the Agile Product Owner for the Microsoft Identity platforms, applying technical knowledge, industry expertise, and insights, with specialized knowledge in Active Directory and Entra ID.
Oversee day-to-day management of the Entra & Active Directory platform configurations required to support new and existing business requirements, application integrations, workloads, regulatory compliance, and all other platform efforts or deliverables.
Drive strong governance, technical excellence, operational processes, and risk management of the platforms, leveraging security, performance, and availability metrics.
Cross-functional collaboration with technical leaders, solution architects, engineers, security stakeholders, governance, and other subject matter experts to review and integrate requirements into solution designs.
Collaborate with various groups and individuals to troubleshoot and resolve escalated production issues.
Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:
BS/BA in Computer Science / other technical degree or Business Management and 10 years of IT experience or in lieu of degree High School Diploma/GED and 15 years of IT experience
5+ years of experience leading a team(s) of engineers
5+ years of experience leading the engineering, delivery, and support of technology solutions for medium to large enterprises
5+ years of experience in planning, designing, building, & managing enterprise Active Directory & Entra environments, with hybrid identity sync.
Experience managing Entra tenants with Office365 services, Azure, Enterprise Applications, and Conditional Access policies.
Strong understanding of identity and access management principles and best practices in modern IDP's, directories, and authentication systems.
Experience planning, building, & managing operational excellence and resiliency solutions such as Splunk, NewRelic, and Rubrik for IDP and user directory technology platforms
Experience with secure architectures, security posture hardening, vulnerability management, and security operations integrations.
Experience working with agile methodologies as a Product Owner and/or Tech Lead on a product team
Experience automating deployments using DevOps & CI/CD best practices
Desired Characteristics:
10+ years of experience leading mission critical technology and/or security functions in a large, highly-regulated enterprise.
5+ years of experience in an information security domain, with specialized subject matter expertise in Identity & Access Management, Infrastructure Security, or similar.
Strong executive presence, with proven ability to communicate technical strategy and tailor messaging to the appropriate audience.
Ability to drive cross-functional change through effective collaboration and understanding of larger business initiatives.
Ability to think strategically about how Synchrony’s Microsoft Identity Platforms will be used to support the organization’s overall goals and objectives.
Proven analytical mindset; Ability to identify patterns or correlation within data sets
Critical attention to detail; Ability to coordinate multiple deliverables across multiple teams
Hands-on experience working across various identity functions including Identity Governance & Administration, Authentication / Authorization, Directory Services, Privilege Management, and Secrets Management
Experience designing and building with DevOps, API-driven solutions, and fully automated service delivery capabilities
Knowledge of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) data security standards
Knowledge of Payment Card Industry (PCI) data security standards
Knowledge of laws, policies, procedures, or governance relevant to cybersecurity for critical infrastructures
Knowledge of cyber defense and information security policies, procedures, and regulations
Knowledge of information technology (IT) risk management policies, requirements, and procedures
Industry recognized certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CISM, GISP, CASP, Microsoft, etc.
Grade/Level: 13
The salary range for this position is 150,000.00 - 250,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.
Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.
Eligibility Requirements:

You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
