So, what will the System Administrator II at Terrestris do?
The System Administrator II will support operations by managing and maintaining Microsoft Active Directory Hybrid environment, Entra-ID, Azure, Intune and AutoPilot, ensuring secure and efficient configuration, deployment, and management of laptops, mobile devices, applications, and security policies. This role involves implementing mobile device management (MDM) and mobile application management (MAM) strategies, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with security and organizational standards. The System Administrator collaborates closely with IT teams, stakeholders, and end-users to ensure that corporate devices and applications are effectively managed and secure. The Administrator will also document procedures, write and maintain change control records.
What does a typical day look like for a System Administrator II?
A typical day for a Systems Administrator II involves a combination of proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, maintenance, and optimization tasks to ensure the smooth operation of IT systems. This role often includes managing servers, networks, and other infrastructure, supporting users, and ensuring system security. Throughout the day, a Systems Administrator II may also participate in regular team meetings, provide technical guidance to junior administrators, and assist in strategic planning for system upgrades or IT projects. The role requires both technical expertise and strong problem-solving skills, along with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
What qualifications do you look for?
You might be the person we’re looking for if you have:
· United States citizenship (required)
· Must be willing and able to travel 25-50%
· Ability to work remotely with limited supervision and be a self-starter.
· Microsoft Certified Modern Desktop Administrator Associate or other relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., Azure, Intune) are required.
· A Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) and / or Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) certification is preferred.
· An associate's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related discipline is required.
· A minimum of five years' experience, of which at least three years must be specialized. Specialized experience includes:
§ Experience working with Microsoft Intune.
§ Hands-on experience with Microsoft o365 and Azure ecosystems.
§ Experience with Windows Autopilot and device provisioning.
§ Experience managing application deployment and policy management across diverse mobile environments.
§ Administering /troubleshooting Microsoft Azure, Entra ID, Intune and Autopilot.
§ Administering on-premises/cloud Active Directory and Active Directory Federated Services.
§ Strong knowledge of Windows and iOS device management through Intune.
§ Extensive experience with Azure Active Directory (AAD), Conditional Access, and Azure AD Join.
§ Experience with scripting languages like PowerShell for automation and configuration tasks.
§ Administering /troubleshooting DNS servers.
§ Administering /troubleshooting DHCP servers.
§ Administering /troubleshooting Microsoft Endpoint for laptops and mobile devices.
§ Administering /troubleshooting Office 365 cloud applications.
§ Administering /troubleshooting Microsoft Exchange.
§ Intermediate understanding of Linux commands and troubleshooting.
§ Writing change control and server documentation.
