Overview:
As a Microsoft 365 Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of Microsoft 365 solutions. You will work closely with various departments to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of Microsoft 365 services. The Microsoft Solutions Specialist is a dynamic role focused on providing support for Microsoft 365, Azure, and related solutions to Bernhard and its technology users. This role combines frontline user assistance with advanced configuration and project work, optimizing technology solutions to enhance productivity and security. The specialist plays a pivotal role in bridging user needs with Microsoft technologies, ensuring seamless operations, and contributing to Bernhard's technology service goals.
Responsibilities:
Specific responsibilities include:
Design, deploy, manage, and support Microsoft 365 solutions, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive.
- Monitor and maintain the health, performance, and security of Microsoft 365 environments.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Microsoft 365-related issues.
- Collaborate with IT and business teams to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.
- Implement and manage security policies and compliance measures within Microsoft 365.
- Optimize and maintain on-prem Microsoft solutions such as Active Directory and Group Policy.
- Maintain operating system and third-party patch management on workstations and servers.
- Develop, implement, and manage Microsoft 365 and Azure configurations for optimal organizational performance and adherence to adopted security policies.
- Coordinate with internal parties and third-party consultants for project planning and execution.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of Microsoft security features, such as Conditional Access and Multi-factor Authentication, to enhance data protection.
- Evaluate and develop existing Microsoft solutions to address organizational needs.
- Contribute to the integration of Microsoft solutions with other commercial technologies.
- Administer and configure Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and other collaboration tools.
- Support hybrid work environments, providing technical assistance to on-site and remote users.
- Develop solutions to streamline processes with tools such as Microsoft’s Power Platform suite.
- Participate in the rollout of Windows 11 and Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD) configurations.
- Assist in the management and optimization of Microsoft licensing agreements.
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices, continuously enhancing expertise.
- Provide technical expertise in identifying when Microsoft solutions may not be suitable and offer alternative recommendations.
- Contribute to cybersecurity, data protection, and compliance efforts, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with the service desk team as a point of escalation while prioritizing project work.
This position is Full Time Exempt, and reports to the Director of Information Technology.
Qualifications:
Required Education, Experience and Qualifications
A degree in computer science, information systems, business administration or a technology-related field, or equivalent work experience, is required.
- Foundational level certifications (Microsoft, CompTIA) or equivalent
- Proven experience as a Microsoft 365 Engineer or similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft 365 services and administration.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Strong analytical thinking and innovation skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Meticulous and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a challenging environment.
Travel Requirements
Frequent travel to Company or client locations. Approximately 15% of time will be spent traveling
