Operations Manager
Key Role:
Act as technical support for assigned center infrastructure monitoring and implementation activities. Provide consultation and engineering architectural design that meets FDA requirements, including server provisioning, storage, and network. Assist with the creation or validation of application infrastructure documentation, including Target State Diagrams (TSDs) and Firewall rules. Perform technical reviews for infrastructure deployments in the data center or cloud environments. Support troubleshooting of application data center infrastructure issues, both on premise and cloud. Serve as a technical liaison in providing product or services information and resolving issues regarding OIMT or DIO products and services, including server provisioning, storage network, security, email, Citrix, and telecommunications. Support security requirements, analysis, and compliance. Collaborate with relevant teams and the security team on POA&Ms to take corrective actions in a timely manner. Support enterprise-wide deployments, integration, and installation, and plan and manage infrastructure team members. Meet and exceed program-level SLAs and metrics. Communicate effectively per SOPs and identify areas of opportunities to enhance customer experience.
Basic Qualifications:
- Experience with UNIX, Linux, and Windows system infrastructure architectures, including network, firewall, and authentication topologies, deployments, and Splunk applied in supporting the documentation, implementation, and deployment of systems and applications
- Experience analyzing network traffic with tools, including Wireshark or TCPDump
- Ability to direct and coordinate with multiple data centers and cloud operations teams to support FDA customer resources with provisioning, installing, upgrading, and maintaining applications residing on FDA servers
- Ability to provide input and guidance during the development of FDA application deployment plans
- Ability to effectively communicate to broad user groups and technical teams, collaborate with teams for troubleshooting issues, lead the infrastructure team, improve processes, meet or exceed SLAs, and manage various projects, client presentations, and implementations, including Single Sign-On Authentication, Configuration, and Change Management processes
- Ability to review and revise application target state diagrams, application runbooks, and datacenter provisioning documents, and define detailed physical design and implementation activities
- Ability to provide direct support in the day-to-day operations on network and operating systems, including the evaluation of system utilization, monitoring response time, and primary support for detection and correction of operational problems
- Ability to provide technical customer-facing interaction, problem resolution, troubleshooting production outages, incident escalation, and set direction for resolution of critical path incidents or problems
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
- HS diploma or GED and 10+ years of experience with IT middleware or infrastructure engineering, Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience with IT middleware or infrastructure engineering, or Master’s degree and 3+ years of experience with IT middleware or infrastructure engineering
Additional Qualifications:
- Experience with ITIL foundations best practices and processes
- Experience with ServiceNow Enterprise Services Management tools
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic customer-facing environment
- Ability to use Agile methodology, including Scrum Master, Sprints, or Backlog Grooming
- Ability to work effectively in a complex and dynamic environment with multiple FDA customers and team members, and FDA application development teams
- ITIL Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $96,600.00 to $220,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
