HR and Payroll Manager
R Wireless Group of companies owns and operate Verizon Authorized Retailer stores in NJ, PA, NY, CT, MA as well as other hospitality businesses. We are looking for an HR and Payroll Manager to join our team who is passionate about our employees as we are.
We have an immediate opening for an organized, proactive HR and Payroll Manager to lead our HR and Payroll department. Our corporate headquarters is located in Moorestown, NJ, and our ideal candidate would be someone who genuinely believes they can help take our employees and company to the next level.
As HR and Payroll Manager, you will contribute to the overall success of the organization by helping us attract and retain top talent, and confidentially maintain accurate records for all employees in compliance with state and federal laws. You will work collaboratively with multiple departments including executive management, sales, and operations. This is a critical position to the organization and candidates must be dependable and punctual. Excellent organization, time management, and multi-tasking skills required for successful achievement of position goals in this fast-paced environment. Previous experience with ADP Workforce Now is required.
The HR and Payroll Manager will have responsibilities in the following areas:
HR Functions:
- Develops a strong partnership with the leadership and employees in each region to help build a high-performance organization.
- Provides support to, internal customers in all areas of Human Resources including recruiting and employee on-boarding.
- Responsible for the day-to-day HR support and serves as the HR subject matter expert to all employees.
- Reviews existing policies and procedures and initiates changes as necessary to ensure compliance with state and federal laws, corporate policies, and business objectives; Effectively communicates policies and change initiatives.
- Uses sound judgment to provide effective performance management guidance in the areas of coaching, counseling, career development, corrective actions.
- Acts as an advisor and provides technical HR expertise and analytical support to the management team regarding the application of employment laws and corporate policies when addressing specific business issues.
- Note that as the company grows, this role may supervise others.
Payroll Functions:
- Ensure all documentation is entered and/or submitted to process bi-weekly payroll through ADP.
- Prepare bi-weekly payroll journal entries to accounting system.
- Track and record employee PTO.
- Calculate deductions for payroll for voluntary employee benefits.
- Maintain data in payroll system necessary to facilitate ACA reporting.
- Respond to staff questions related to payroll.
Benefits Functions:
- Manage eligibility of employees into the various benefits.
- Produce benefits enrollment packages for new hires and ensure completion of benefit enrollment for new hires.
- Produce and distribute Summary Plan Descriptions as necessary.
- Ensure termination from benefits occurs in a timely manner.
- Process and follow up on disability claims.
- Review benefits invoices to ensure accuracy prior to releasing for payment.
- Report and administer workers’ compensation claims.
- Respond to employee questions related to benefits.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Human Resources or Business Administration.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in required field, preferably in retail and hospitality.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills.
- Working knowledge and use of ADP Work Force Now, Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Can work independently as well as with others, while maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
- Desire to have fun while being the best, bringing energy and enthusiasm to work every day.
