The Maintenance Planner plans, organizes, and schedules preventive and predictive maintenance utilizing maintenance personnel and ensuring parts are on hand. Provides long and short term maintenance plans for productions departments and records all maintenance activities. The Maintenance Planner reports to the Manufacturing Maintenance Superintendent.
Accountabilities
- Analyzes each job with the technicians to make sure the jobs are safe to perform
- Plans and schedules both daily preventive and predictive maintenance activities
- Plan and schedule jobs for routine downs and annual outages
- Works daily in the CMMS (SAP) for organizing and closing out work orders
- Maintains both the notification and the work order backlog
- Hold planning and scheduling meetings with the maintenance and operational team in order to make sure the jobs are planned and scheduled in order of priority
- Schedules a variety of maintenance operations and analyzes new work orders to develop, prepare, and publish a master schedule on short range projects
- Establish cost estimates and supply projections for long and short-range maintenance projects.
- Analyzes and adjusts maintenance schedules that are affected by changes in arrival date of parts or equipment
- Work with Reliability to update frequency and descriptions of the PM maintenance items and maintenance plans
- Work with maintenance and reliability team to update BOMs in the CMMS
- Balances production needs with maintenance schedule and updates schedules accordingly
- Recommends issues and follows up on preventative maintenance inspections and procedures
- Ensure that all safety procedures and policies are followed according to job assignment
- Actively pursue measures to reduce downtime on plant equipment, identify opportunities, and take measures to reduce waste
- Act as a resource for the maintenance technicians
- Manage contractors as needed for onsite work

Job Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Degree required with preference for AA/BS in Engineering or related technical field
- Requires experience in Maintenance Planning/Scheduling related experience
- Knowledge of Maintenance procedures
- Knowledge and familiarity of CMMS Systems
- Knowledge of BOM management
- Knowledge of rotating equipment
- Knowledge of electrical and instrumentation equipment
- Safe work practices
- Must be able to manage multiple priorities
- Communicate effectively both in writing and verbally
- Work effectively within teams and with production management.
- Plan/schedule activities effectively
- Work towards specific goals and objectives with limited daily oversight
- Knowledge Preventative/Predictive Maintenance
- Facilities maintenance (Industrial preferred)
- Some level of supervisory experience is desirable
