The Salesforce Administrator serves as a member of the Information Services team and is responsible for devising and executing business-oriented programming and analysis in support of the Foundation’s mission. The Salesforce Administrator interacts with all levels across the organization in a positive and productive manner and uses mastered understanding of core business and functional requirements to create new resources and maintain existing custom deployments within the CRM database and other technology solutions for all users.
Essential Functions & Core Responsibilities
- Assist Information Services team with creating requirements, identifying gaps, and formulating business requirements into technical solutions.
- Develop and deploy custom solutions using Apex and Lightning Web Components including unit tests and code coverage compliance.
- Create and maintain process automation through the use of flows, triggers, and Apex batch jobs.
- Salesforce configuration changes, including (but not limited to): Flow, fields, page layouts, record types, custom settings, dashboards and reports.
- Maintain and document managed package updates to custom metadata and custom settings required for upgrades.
- Keep up to date on donor database technological advances and assist in the planning and execution of software upgrades through advanced training and information communication.
- Work with other information services staff to identify and resolve deficiencies in data integrity and assist in the isolation and resolution of procedural and technical database problems.
- Work with business stakeholders to understand business processes, prioritize information needs, and translate business requirements into systems solutions collaborating with end-users to gather and define business requirements.
- Baccalaureate degree in computer science, information systems, or related field or an equivalent combination of training, education, and work experience.
- Apex experience including unit tests and code coverage compliance.
- Lightning Web Component experience.
- JavaScript experience.
- Understanding of web services (REST/SOAP) and how to use them to develop integrations.
- Strong experience with a relational database management system (SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, etc.).
- Experience using source control systems, such as Git.
- Experience with at least one non-Apex, object-oriented programming language, such as Python or Java.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex data loads (e.g., governor limits, performance, process builders, apex timeouts).
- Troubleshooting performance issues using tools like debug logs and dev console.
- Troubleshooting system configuration and data management issues.
- Ability to express complex ideas and technical information in relatable ways to audiences with varied backgrounds.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team environment focusing on life-long learning, creativity, and innovation to optimize business performance.
- Strong working knowledge of application programming and database management systems in an on-line, cloud environment.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously and to work calmly under pressure of goals and deadlines.

- Experience with general project management.
- Experience using and working knowledge of donor database CRM and tracking systems with preference to UCI ascend or Affinaquest software packages.
- Experience in Cloud environment deploying highly available, scalable and mission critical services with a solid understanding of security concepts and best practices.
- Experience in non-profit or fundraising field, prior experience in college or university setting.
This position does not have direct supervision or management responsibilities. May provide guidance and assignment of tasks to student workers and other team members. Provides indirect leadership through collaborative efforts.
The position is an exempt level position with a standard work schedule of 40 hours during core business hours Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. The position may require weekend and evening hours on occasion.
