The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Quality Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Driving existing product quality enhancement through use of continuous improvement methods and tools, such as: Lean Six Sigma, Product and Process Understanding (PPU), Design of Experiments (DOE) and Quality at the Source
- Supporting and interacting with customers through complaint investigations, resolution, and trending
- Supporting quality systems, quality systems improvements, audits, and supplier quality management processes
- Ensuring the commercialized product design intent and product integrity is retained as materials, processes, methods, and specifications change
- Supporting and/or leading change as it relates to design changes inspired by quality improvement, source of supply changes, or cost reduction efforts
- Troubleshooting, investigating, and analyzing for non-conforming product testing and disposition
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
- Two (2) years combined manufacturing, production, quality and/or laboratory experience in a private, public, government or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Engineering, or Materials Science (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
- Advanced experience in a quality function in manufacturing/production plant
- Experience running small scale investigative experimentation in a laboratory or pilot plant
- Deep emphasis on applied statistical applications and continuous improvement methodologies
- Support and/or lead efforts on life cycle management, risk management, product and process improvements, and other product documentation efforts
Work location:
Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/international
Relocation Assistance: May be authorized

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $95,825 - $117,120, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
