PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
The IT Solutions Analyst professional plays a crucial role in analyzing business requirements, designing, and implementing IT solutions that enhance business processes and drives operational efficiency. This role involves collaborating with various business units to understand their needs, translating these into functional specifications, and working with IT teams to ensure the successful delivery of solutions. The IT Solutions Analyst acts as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams by bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions within an organization.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Requirements Gathering:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements.
- Analyze current business processes and identify areas for improvement through technology.
- Develop detailed functional and technical specifications for IT solutions.
- Solution Design and Development:
- Collaborate with IT architects and developers to design solutions that meet business needs.
- Evaluate and recommend software, hardware, and services to support business processes.
- Participate in the configuration, customization, and testing of IT systems.
- Project Management
- Assist in the planning and execution of IT projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including developers, network engineers, and external vendors.
- Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
- Testing and Quality Assurance:
- Develop and execute test plans to ensure the quality and functionality of IT solutions.
- Identify and resolve issues during testing phases.
- Ensure that solutions are aligned with organizational standards and compliance requirements.
- Implementation and Support:
- Oversee the deployment of IT solutions and provide training to end-users.
- Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for implemented systems.
- Maintain documentation for solutions, including user guides and technical manuals.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends.
- Recommend and implement process improvements and automation where applicable.
- Conduct post-implementation reviews to assess the effectiveness of solutions and identify opportunities for enhancement.
- Documentation Management:
- Maintain documentation repositories, ensuring that documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
- Vendor Management:
- Collaborate with external vendors when applicable, assessing their solutions and ensuring alignment with business requirements.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, information technology, computer science, or related experience.
- Proven experience in IT analysis, design, and implementation.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Knowledge of database management and SQL.
- Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
- Certification in ITIL, PMP, or similar frameworks.
- Strong understanding of software development life cycles (SDLC) and project management methodologies.
- Proficiency in systems analysis, business process mapping, and data analysis.
- Project management skills, including the ability to manage priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
