Job Description
We are looking for a Sr. Software Engineer to join Visa's Cybersecurity Product Development team, focusing on our microsegmentation platform. This team is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting all Visa microsegmentation requirements in container environments, both on-premises and in the cloud.
Ideal candidates will have solid Golang programming experience, familiarity with Kubernetes and containers in general, and experience with microservice architecture. They should be skilled in using DevOps tools and be good team players with clear and precise communication skills. The ability to work well with the team and possess interpersonal skills to reach solution resolution amid diverse opinions.
Essential Functions:
Participate in group discussions to understand system architecture and requirements, and create clear designs with supporting diagrams
Create Jira tickets based on requirements, implement features by the due date, and write unit test code
Participate in group standups, provide timely status updates, and review pull requests with constructive feedback
Remediate container image vulnerabilities assigned to you by the deadline
Interact with group members and other Visa teams as necessary, and support production issues on demand with strong troubleshooting skills
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 2+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 5+ years of relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
- Experience in Golang and Bash programming
- Experience with DevOps tooling: Git repo, Ansible, Jenkins, containers
- Familiarity with microservices architecture
- Experience with Kubernetes and containers
- Experience with public cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure Knowledge of and ability to develop microservices in Golang including unit test case development and production troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of other programming languages desirable: Java and Python
- Proficiency with Linux command line and system administration skills, and familiarity with tools like Git, Ansible, Jenkins
- Experience with container packaging and development, and knowledge of container orchestration by Kubernetes, including container networking and network policies
- Experience developing cloud-ready components in public cloud environments
- Utilization of Generative AI models and software for code development
- Not required but highly desirable: AI/ML programming skills such as using GenAI APIs to develop features
- Strong communication skills, write and speak with clarity, ability to work well with others under pressure, and collaborate with remote teams

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 105,800.00 to 149,550.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
