Overview:The Healthcare Quality Lead is responsible for full ownership of Quality in the Healthcare business on-site. This includes Supplier Quality, QMS, Validation, Metrology, Incoming/In-Process QC, Batch Release, NPI, Quality Engineering, and other areas within the quality unit. The Quality Lead Engineer will serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) and primary contact for quality, representing the company to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate all quality activities pertaining to healthcare quality (Supplier Quality, QMS, Validation, Metrology, Incoming/In-process QC, Batch Release, NPI, Quality Engineering)
- Act as site SME for Healthcare Quality and Regulatory, coaching and mentoring, as required, team members and functional leads to ensure compliance requirements are understood, and implemented.
- Manages the development, modification and maintenance of all quality evaluation and control systems in areas of product responsibility, and in compliance with company policies, customer requirements, ISO13485 and government regulations (i.e. FDA 21CFR Part 820).
- Utilizes their influence to ensure compliance is maintained across the areas they interact with
- Manages the Quality/Compliance Key Performance Indicators and drives year on year improvements
- Creates a high performing flexible team which achieves excellent results through coaching/mentoring & effective performance management.
- Responsible for ensuring that his/her team is trained in their roles & also to support the development of standard work, documentation, training & work instruction activities where appropriate.
- Exercises exceptional judgement regarding quality decisions to ensure the quality, customer and business needs are served effectively
- Approaches quality from a proactive perspective and can also recover quality matters quickly and effectively if issues arise
- Manages and implements effective methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of raw materials, WIP and finished products and production equipment.
- Manages statistical analysis projects to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
- Ensures the Internal Audit program assesses the effectiveness of planned/implemented controls, to meet customer and regulatory requirements, and that corrective actions drive effective fixes.
- Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with all JABIL, customer and regulatory requirements.
- Manages the development of sustainable, repeatable and quantifiable business process improvements. Reports to management as necessary and required on the status of quality assurance programmes and practices.
- Understand risk management and establishes high standards of risk management within their area
- Manages quality agreements as applicable to their area (supplier, contractor, customer)
- Coordinates critical business reviews with healthcare suppliers/customers, as required
- Supports regional and/or corporate initiatives as required (e.g. Behaviour Based Quality (BBQ)
- Leads the use of lean tools to drive continuous improvement with Quality/Compliance function.
- Support all company safety and quality programs and initiatives.
- Other responsibilities may be assigned from time to time as needed, based on the evolution of the company and the requirements of the department/position.
Job Specifications:
- Ordinary or Honours Degree in Science/Engineering Qualification in relevant discipline desirable.
- Management/relevant supervisory management qualification desirable.
- 5 years plus supervisory/leadership experience in a senior quality role essential.
- Qualifications & experience in Lean (Green Belt level) desirable.
- Experience in management in a regulated healthcare environment essential.
- Experience in medical device injection moulding & assembly operations desirable
