About the Opportunity
The Junior Buyer position is responsible for supporting the flow of assembly materials through the plant to ensure that the Company's goals are met. The position is responsible for the purchasing of materials and services to optimize price, quality, and delivery.
What You'll Do:
- Generates RFQ's and places purchase orders, negotiates lowest cost and most favorable terms to support material demand requirements
- Responsible for the acquisition of goods and services at the right time and acceptable quality
- Must follow up on open purchase orders to ensure product is delivered timely
- Responsible for supplier On Time Delivery (OTD)
- Maintains relationships with suppliers, and recommends changes in purchasing procedures to improve service, and quality
- Contributes to continuous improvement activities for the assembly MRP process
- Resolves supplier invoicing issues and implements corrective actions to minimize future errors
- Participates in daily and weekly production meetings to provide material parts status
- Acts as a cross-functional team member in partnership with account management, assembly kitting and assembly production associates to ensure orders are released to the floor in an efficient and timely manner
- Monitors MRP to ensure material supply is aligned to system demand and strategically uses system planning and parameters to ensure optimal inventory levels
- Conducts periodic supplier business reviews to improve supplier performance
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Supports cost estimating by requesting supplier quotes
What You'll Bring:
- Must be able read, write and communicate effectively in English
- Excellent organizational and decision-making skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Prior experience in aerospace industry is a plus
- Basic knowledge of technical blueprints, certifications and standards
- Proficient in reading drawings
- Knowledge of AS9100 Quality Management System requirements (Preferred)
- Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Excel and Word
- Proficient understanding of manufacturing, PCB or engineering processes (Preferred)
- Experience working with an MRP System
- Experience working with ProCim (Preferred)
Education and Experience:
- Associated degree in Supply Chain Logistics, Business Operations, Inventory Management or related field or comparable industry experience, but Bachelor's degree or higher(Preferred)
- 2 to 5 years of experience in a similar role or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Inventory control experience
Schedule:
- 8-hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime as needed
- Weekends as needed
