The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As an Advanced Application Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Leading new application replication that can have significant impact potential at a program level.
- Implementing project scope, expectations, and requirements to suggest future direction based on results.
- Determining which technical skills to apply to provide support and services to internal and external customers through product localization/converting, technology development, process development, and life cycle management.
- Supporting the development of intellectual property processes and positions, including Invention Submission (IS’s), patent and trade secrets.
- Engaging directly with customers, capturing voice of customer (VOC), studying market trends, collaborating with industry experts and regulatory bodies, and training both customers and sales representatives.
- Identifying and presenting the value proposition of reflective sheeting market of CBTD products.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.
- One (1) year of experience providing technical sales support in a private, public, government or military environment.
- Current, valid Driver’s License.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in related discipline (Graphics Art, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or Electrical Engineering) from an accredited university.
- Possess intrapersonal skills – able to communicate at all levels of the organization.
- Experience with reflective sheeting or traffic safety products and equipment.
- Ability to work with and install flexible reflective sheeting to traffic cones and devices.
- Written and oral presentation, training, and communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to work and take individual initiative and responsibility for assignments independently and within a team environment.
- Experience with statistical software.
- Ability to problem solve and apply new knowledge to practical situations.
- Strong organizational skills.
Work location:
Travel: May include up to 30% domestic and international.
Relocation Assistance: May be authorized.
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
