TITLE: Principal Software Engineer
LOCATION: Washington, D.C. & various unanticipated locations throughout U.S. (remote position)
DUTIES: Drives the development and effective use of SAP Success Factors HR cloud Technologies to deliver efficient business processes, management information, and analysis. Owns and leads the systems development approach; and confirms requirements are clear, follows a documented development/build methodology, and ensures a robust unit and system/integration testing regimen. Outlines, develops, and documents clear requirements and technical specifications that follow an established methodology. Conducts and contributes to the design specifications and assists in sizing technical requirements. Ensures all work is in harmony with all defined industry and company standards as well as ensures that overall implementation is aligned with Amtrak's technology strategies. Adheres to quality standards and procedures. Reviews modules for quality assurance and checks compliance with application architecture standards and SLAs. Provides ongoing maintenance of systems, serving as a point of escalation. Leads, guides, and provides cross functional project oversight for technical teams/resources. Assists in the development of user guides and training documentation.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field, followed by seven (7) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience as a Principal Software Engineer or any occupation related to Software Developers. Must also have seven (7) years of experience: (1) Designing, configuring, administrating, coding, unit testing, enhancing, and reviewing of solutions implemented in SAP Success Factors HR Cloud Technologies and associated models, including Employee Central, ECP Payroll, Compensation, Learning, Performance/Goals/Development, Recruiting, Onboarding, and Workforce Planning; (2) Working with business teams to build prototypes and to validate SAP SuccessFactors and SAP ECC system requirements; (3) Monitoring existing applications including ADP, Oracle, and SAP ECC to ensure SAP SuccessFactors systems are designed for scalability and high performance; (4) Owning User Interface design, solution approach, implementation of solution, and affirmation on quality of deliverables for all SAP SuccessFactors modules, SAP ECC, and third-party systems which share employee data; and (5) Identifying, proposing, and overseeing the execution of business and IT solutions as well as interpreting documents communicating business and IT needs and requirements. Must also have SAP SuccessFactors certification. All experience may be acquired concurrently. Remote work permitted in accordance with standard company policy. All positions require pre-employment background check verification and a pre-employment drug screen.
SALARY: $173,763 per year
