COMPANY: National Railroad Passenger Corporation (Amtrak)
TITLE: Principal Technologist
LOCATION: Washington, D.C. & various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.
DUTIES: Design Informatica Master Data Management (MDM) applications based on identified architecture and support implementation of design by resolving complex technical issues faced by the IT project team during development, deployment, and support. Provide production system operations and maintenance (O&M) support for end-users, applications, infrastructure, or network services. Troubleshoot existing information systems, application, middleware, or networks to identify errors or deficiencies. Make recommendations and influence long-term technology strategy and planning for multiple business units. Assist in the development and analysis of source selection strategies. Serve as a consultant and escalation point for issues. Provide technical analyses to help define, assess, and monitor the technical aspects of the program/project or service. Design innovative solutions using new technologies. Recommend short-term alternatives when appropriate. Work with vendors during the problem-resolution process as needed. Provide technical expertise across business functions. Identify opportunities to improve business processes via new technologies. Provide support for Sr Principal Technologist's representation of Amtrak relevant, industry forums.
REQUIREMENTS: Must have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Must have seven (7) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience as a Principal Technologist or any occupation related to Computer Systems Analysis. Must also have seven (7) years of experience: (1) Designing, developing, installing, and configuring core Informatica/Siperian MDM Hub components including Informatica MDM Hub Console, Hub Store, Hub Server, Cleanse Match Server, and Cleanse Adapter; (2) Migrating informatica power center (ETL) to Informatica Cloud (IICS) using cloud migration tool; (3) Performing data transformation, standardization, enrichment, masking, and migration through MDM Hub, IDD, & DE configuration; (4) Extracting, transforming, and loading (ETL) data from various sources into Data Warehouses and Data marts using Informatica power center (Repository Manager, Designer, Workflow Manager, Workflow monitor, Metadata manager), Power exchange, and Power connect as ETL tools on Oracle, DB2 and SQL server databases; (5) Modelling and profiling data using IDQ & Oracle SQL and Oracle Enterprise Data Quality technologies; (6) Installing, configuring, and supporting applications that are hosted on JBoss or WebSphere servers on multiple platforms, including Linux, Windows, and AIX; (7) Configuring and managing databases, including MySQL, Oracle DB and PostgreSQL, and restoring activities; (8) Creating Shell and Python scripts for release and build automation; and (9) Supporting applications on AWS Services including AWS Glue, AWS Step Functions, AWS Batch, Amazon EMR, AWS Data Pipeline, AWS Lambda or other AWS native orchestration tooling and maintaining AMIs, IAM, RDS, Route 53, VPC, RDS, DynamoDB, Lambda, SQS, and SNS services in AWS. All experience may be acquired concurrently. Remote work permitted in accordance with standard company policy. SALARY: $147,784 to $163,000 per year
