Analyst ProgramThe Analyst Program is non-rotational and provides the opportunity to gain experience working for one of the most well-regarded financial institutions in the world. The Analyst Program offers four main tracks: Corporate Banking, Commercial Real Estate, Investment Banking and Sales and Trading. Economic Analysts are grouped under Sales and Trading. This is a two-year program with a program start date of June 2025 (an earlier start date may be possible depending on availability). An Economic Analyst opportunity is available in New York City
Training The analyst will participate in a six to eight week training program in Charlotte alongside other incoming analysts before beginning their work with the Economics group. The training combines all the analysts from various lines of business. Wells Fargo professionals and consultants with special expertise in their fields equip analysts with the skills, knowledge and tools to make an immediate contribution to their team. Analysts will also receive on-the-job coaching, mentoring, and feedback throughout their tenure.
Economics OverviewThe Economics group provides research and analysis on international, national, and regional economic trends to help serve our clients' business and financial needs. The group's analysis includes forecasting growth, inflation and interest rates, as well as timely commentary on the latest data and topical issues affecting the economy. Our experienced economists are regularly featured in national publications, academic journals, and on popular television and radio programs.
ResponsibilitiesEconomic Analysts assume significant responsibilities that may include:
- Compiling, presenting and analyzing economic and financial data. Developing and maintaining workbooks and models to capture the latest economic data and depict trends
- Preparing presentations and other materials for internal and external audiences.
- Supporting various sector analyses. The primary focus of this role will be to support analysis of international economies, both advanced and developing economies, as well as international interest rate and currency trends.
- Conducting economic research, preparing charts, and providing written analysis to various reports distributed to clients. The role is anticipated to be a publishing analyst role, with the analyst expected-over time-to monitor, forecast and publish on a small, select number of international economies.
- Participating in internal and external client meetings to gain exposure to key issues affecting the economy.
Required Qualifications:- 6+ months of Economics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:- Strong interest in economics, especially international economics, with knowledge attained through coursework, individual study and prior work experience.
- Work experience as a currency analyst, sales and trading analyst, or in an international economic analyst role, would be a distinct advantage.
- Coursework in international economics would also be advantageous.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) skills.
- Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment. An ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment.
- Energetic self-starter who is flexible, organized, conscientious and proactive.
Pay RangeReflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$100,800.00 - $179,200.00
