Leidos is at the forefront of cybersecurity innovation, dedicated to leveraging AI to protect our nation and maintain the resilience of both public and private sectors. The Cyber Warfare branch in the Electronic Warfare (EW) division at the Leidos Innovations Center (LInC) has an opening for a Cyber AI Intern to support programs in Arlington, VA. This role involves research, data analysis, and developing models and tools that enhance our cyber infrastructure. The ideal candidate should be curious, detail-oriented, and have a strong foundational understanding of cybersecurity concepts and AI/ML techniques. You will also get to work alongside scientists and field experts to support the design, development, and implementation of AI-driven cybersecurity solutions, and continue growing your knowledge and career.
Primary Responsibilities:
Taking direction from your Team or Task Lead, you will:
- Assist in the development and deployment of machine learning models for vulnerability detection and predictive analytics.
- Review and summarize academic papers, industry reports, and technical publications related to cybersecurity.
- Collect and analyze data to identify trends and patterns for potential areas of interest.
- Research and evaluate AI techniques relevant to cybersecurity applications.
- Develop research reports, whitepapers, and presentations that outline findings and actionable insights.
- Participate in team brainstorming sessions to propose novel research ideas and approaches.
- Support the team in documenting methodologies, results, and recommendations.
Basic Qualifications:
- Must be U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance
- Must be enrolled in Bachelor’s Degree program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field, and have completed at least 1 year of curriculum with a minimum 3.0 GPA
- Fundamental understanding of cybersecurity principles
- Hands-on experience with building machine learning models and tuning
- concepts and hands-on experience with programming languages like Python and their AI/ML libraries.
- Strong analytical skills and a keen attention to detail
- Ability to read and interpret technical materials, including research papers, documentation, and reports.
- Proven record of innovative solutions to science and engineering problems (commensurate with education level)
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with cybersecurity tools and frameworks
- Experience with LLM and RAG.
- Strong in Python or similar programming language
- Experience with statistical analysis and data visualization tools

Pay Range:
Pay Range $46,800.00 - $84,600.00
