The Cyber Warfare branch in the Electronic Warfare (EW) division at the Leidos Innovations Center (LInC) has an opening for a Cyber Research Intern to support programs in Arlington, VA. This role involves in-depth data analysis, literature review, lab-based experimentation, and explore the latest cyber challenges and trends. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving and software development skills, a curiosity for understanding complex cyber threats, and a foundational understanding of cybersecurity. You will also get to work alongside scientists and field experts to continue growing your knowledge and career.
Primary Responsibilities:
Taking direction from your Team or Task Lead, you will:
- Conduct research on current and emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and attack vectors.
- Review and summarize academic papers, industry reports, and technical publications related to cybersecurity.
- Assist in designing and developing experiments to test and validate cyber tools and models
- Collect and analyze data to identify trends and patterns for potential areas of interest.
- Develop research reports, whitepapers, and presentations that outline findings and actionable insights.
- Participate in team brainstorming sessions to propose novel research ideas and approaches.
- Support the team in documenting methodologies, results, and recommendations.
Basic Qualifications:
- Must be U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance
- Must be enrolled in Bachelor’s Degree program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field, and have completed at least 1 year of curriculum with a minimum 3.0 GPA
- Fundamental understanding of cybersecurity principles
- Strong in Python or similar programming language
- Experience with Linux environment
- Ability to read and interpret technical materials, including research papers, documentation, and reports.
- Proven record of innovative solutions to science and engineering problems (commensurate with education level)
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with cybersecurity tools and frameworks
- Experience with identifying software vulnerabilities, either through coursework, projects, or internships.
- Knowledge of Android systems.
- Knowledge of statistical analysis and data visualization tools

Pay Range:
Pay Range $46,800.00 - $84,600.00
