This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the facility on a full-time basis.The RoleGeneral Motors is looking for Human Resources (HR) and Labor Relations (LR) professionals who are excited to help lead in the HR space. As a Site HR/LR Lead, you will be responsible for delivery of HR and LR services at our Hudson Parts Distribution Center for Customer Care & Aftersales (CCA) located in Wisconsin, which employs a combined total of approximately 100 people. In addition to providing daily support on HR and LR activities, you will provide leadership and direction that supports our General Motors’ mission, culture, and objectives. You will work strategically with assigned functional business leaders to improve working relationships, build engagement, increase output, and attract and retain talent. You will also have responsibility for some site Safety related activities.This is a great role for someone who is interested in becoming an exceptional HR/LR leader and for someone who has a desire to make a lasting impact on an organization.What You'll DoPartner with the Plant Manager in driving GM culture, promoting positive employee experiences and improving employee engagementPromote a positive working relationship with the union through consistent application of local and national agreementsNegotiate and implement local and national agreementsParticipate in Joint Leadership Meetings and activitiesEnsure adherence to the Grievance ProcedureProvide HR leadership for the site (i.e. talent planning, performance management, compensation planning, recruiting and selection, etc.)Ensure compliance to policy and support investigations of employee concernsManage hourly, contract and salaried employment administrationFacilitate training on HR policies, HR/LR procedures and contractual agreements including the UAW Local and National agreementsChampion assigned Workplace Safety System Elements and administration of local safety related itemsSupport People Involvement and implementation of our Global Manufacturing System (GMS)Core HR:Champion projects that support key HR & Center of Expertise (COE) objectives in function and country.Partner with Site Leadership and People Leaders in driving GM culture, promoting positive employee experiences, and improving employee engagementParticipate in regular HRM and Talent Forum discussions with Site LeadershipPartner with COE to ensure that local policies, procedures, legislations, collective agreements, and regulations are administered appropriately in accordance with country and functional directionCascade company-wide communications and announcements. Provide complex-wide communications on HR/LR initiatives, process changes, and improvements that impact all employees.Ensure appropriate support to the business in regard Human Capital Plans implementation.Support enterprise-initiatives, including Talent Spotting, Workplace of Choice, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and compensation programs.Support processes on employee life cycle from hire to exit.Function as escalation point of contact for uncommon or exceptional employee issues.Partner with Legal and Government to maintain in-depth knowledge of employment requirements related to management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with legal departments as needed/required.Identify areas of opportunity for continuous improvement and partner with COEs to build effective working relationships and provide constructive field perspective to influence common processes and procedures.Leadership Coaching: Identifies individual leadership coaching needs and performs necessary coaching to Leaders.Labor:Manage positive working relationship with union officials and adheres to terms of labor contract by monitoring day-to-day implementation of policies and agreements concerning wages, hours and working conditions, including investigating, answering, and settling grievances, problem-resolution, implementation of strategic initiatives and lead in negotiations where required / applicable.Support the facilitation of training to the workforce.Support Global Manufacturing System Team on People Involvement pillar (GMS) and Workplace Safety System Implementation.
