Position Overview
About the Position:
As a Superintendent, you will play a crucial role in Kiewit's success. You will lead as a field supervisor, overseeing foremen, laborers, and craft workers. Your responsibilities will include ensuring adherence to drawings and specifications, managing costs, work methods, and scheduling. Your ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients, architects, suppliers, subcontractors, and on-site staff will be key to achieving project execution excellence.
District Overview
Kiewit's Southeast District is one of Kiewit's leading infrastructure districts specializing in heavy civil, transportation, and water resource markets. Projects you could be working on could include building bridges, airports, mass transit systems, canals, dams, pump stations or tunnels. Although most of our work is regionally based in the southeast region of the United States, we also pursue various projects stretching across the east coast. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about infrastructure and committed to the construction industry instead of design.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:- Provide mentorship and support to junior superintendents
- Review and approve labor rates for foremen, journeymen, and laborers
- Manage contract administration and communication with subcontractors
- Develop and maintain positive client relationships
- Attend client meetings for planning and issue resolution
- Approve job cost updates and cash flow projections
- Negotiate change orders and project completion plans
- Maintain records and daily diary
- Conduct timely performance evaluations for direct reports
- Recommend organizational or staff changes
- Approve or reject promotions up to General Foremen
Qualifications
- 8+ years' construction experience with 3+ years being in a Superintendent/Leadership capacity (preferably working on infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, dams, water/wastewater treatment plants etc.)
- Must be a self-starter, highly motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to quickly learn and understand various processes regarding Kiewit’s policies, procedures and software programs.
- Ability to identify and resolve any problems that may arise.
- Excellent organizational, administrative, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong experience in Leadership, safety, negotiations, planning, and contract administration.

Working Conditions:
As a Superintendent at Kiewit, you will work in dynamic environments that require flexibility and adaptability. You may be exposed to construction sites, varying weather conditions, and on-site challenges. Safety protocols and equipment will be provided to ensure a secure working environment.
