In this role as a Satellite Systems Engineer, you will have the opportunity to conduct mission/program-specific operations during readiness, execution, and evaluation phases. You will develop detailed plans and procedures to provide maximum mission support in areas such as orbit dynamics and performance analysis, provide technical direction for mission support, plan for critical activities, and provide alternate operating techniques. You will have the opportunity to work with different organizations and sites to implement various efforts across the IC. This includes resiliency test and tactics development as well as ops development.
During the initial training period, the successful candidate will learn the system and may concurrently support tools creation, data analysis, and maintenance. This position requires the completion of a formal training program and certification to perform duties.
This position will require periodic off-hour and 24/7 shifts in support of program activities as well as on-call support.
A TS/SCI with adjudicated polygraph is required prior to start for this position.
Basic Qualifications:
• Experience or understanding of spacecraft operations
• Experience supporting critical operations
• Experience in any of these Engineering functions:
o System integration
o Planning
o Software testing
o System modeling or analysis
• TS/SCI w Poly
Desired Skills:
• Problem solving, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work across sites
• Microsoft Office proficiency (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint)
• Experience with astrodynamics and orbital mechanics including classical orbital (Keplerian) elements
• Understanding of Satellite maneuver tools/techniques
• Knowledge of feedback control and classic mechanics
• Knowledge of basic coding skills in one or more programming language
• Experience with MATLAB, SQL, HTML, Python, UNIX/Linux

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: Standard Monday to Friday 40 hour work week
