Provide technical expertise in performing heavy lift, rigging, & construction planning and execution to improve national employee skills and abilities in accordance with safe work practice, proper installation standards, and company's policy and procedures.
Interfaces closely with construction & engineering to ensure infrastructure, materials and equipment required for construction & commissioning are installed and available at critical milestone dates.
Works closely and with Safety Department and Management to ensure the safety performance for all Central Services employees. Ensures compliance to PTFI Safety Standards, Top Ten Risks abatement and SOP’s out in the field and in everyday tasks and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Actively promote and participate in safety meetings and inspections and promote safety to all counterparts and employees.
- Perform regular inspection of all rigging equipment and operator licenses to ensure all installation work is completed safely with the project quality standards procedures in place.
- Provide clear guidelines and information regarding construction rigging activities to counterpart, construction team and clients for project completion according to the customer requirements and support customer satisfaction.
- Review detail design and installation mechanisms of all construction materials and complete necessary documentation for the completion of the works.
- Analyze and develop recommendations on rigging techniques to support the installation of materials and equipment throughout the construction areas.
- Organize daily installation of materials and equipment based on the construction requirements and areas of responsibility to meet determined objectives in compliance with PTFI's policies and procedures.
- Provide daily report on the work progression in the relevant area of responsibility.
- Identify personnel training requirements and report to construction management, to develop personnel's skills.
- Coordinate the implementation of riggers and equipment with Construction and the Materials and Equipment groups based on the work prioritization and schedule.
- Review mechanical design drawings and field construction work to ensure the as-built construction is according to the design.
- Review engineering scope & deliverables to address omissions in engineering and planning for all rigging method/equipment of all projects.
- Provide clear scope of responsibilities at interfaces between PTFI & third-party contractors to ensure no engineering, procurement or construction scope is missed.
- Prepare detailed Project Execution Plans, Constructability Plans, Heavy Lift Plans, Job Safety Analysis, resource loads, and equipment needs for all critical projects or tasks.
- Review monthly actual activities against the plan and budget, in order to ensure the achievement of department objectives within the allocated resources.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other construction related field preferred and/or Professional Certification/License in Heavy Lift/Rigging with twelve (12) years of experience in a related field or equivalent of education and experience.
- Six (6) years of experience in heavy industrial projects preferably related to mining and infrastructure development.
- Advanced technical knowledge of engineering design and analysis techniques.
- Computer literacy in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, & project scheduling software.
- Ability to coordinate multiple disciplines within projects to meet customers' specific performance requirements for quality, cost, and completion targets.
- Ability to train and develop national workforce to advance their professional abilities and pass on technical knowledge to the junior engineers.
- Ability to prepare project budgets, schedules, and cost benefit analysis for project work to determine cost effective solutions.
- Ability to prepare technical specifications and documents.
- Fluent in English (oral and written) and willing to learn Bahasa.
