Position Purpose: The Avionics Production Systems Engineer II will play a pivotal role in optimizing the integration of product design, manufacturing, and production strategies, with a specific focus on hardware manufacturing for avionics. This role is central to ensuring efficient production workflows and addressing engineering challenges related to aerospace-grade electronics and systems. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in electrical engineering or aerospace engineering, combined with experience in manufacturing complex hardware systems.

Pay Range: $80,000 - $140,000

Job Responsibilities:
Build Plan Development

- Develop and implement detailed build plans for avionics hardware, ensuring compliance with aerospace standards and manufacturability requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align build plans with product timelines and quality goals.
Engineering Troubleshooting

- Address and resolve technical challenges related to the production of avionics hardware, focusing on electrical systems and their integration.
- Provide hands-on support during prototyping and production phases to minimize delays and optimize performance.
Production Strategy and Optimization

- Create production strategies tailored to the unique needs of avionics hardware manufacturing, emphasizing cost, efficiency, and scalability.
- Identify and address bottlenecks in manufacturing processes to ensure smooth operations.
Cross-functional Collaboration

- Partner with design, supply chain, quality, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems into broader hardware assemblies.
- Communicate effectively with engineering and production teams to align objectives and resolve conflicts.
Process and Systems Development

- Develop and refine manufacturing processes for avionics hardware, leveraging industry best practices.
- Utilize data-driven approaches to monitor production performance and propose continuous improvements.

Required Qualifications/Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in production engineering, systems engineering, or hardware manufacturing, with a focus on avionics or aerospace-grade electronics.
- Expertise in troubleshooting electrical and systems engineering issues during manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of aerospace standards and regulations for hardware production.
- Experience with CAD software, electronics design tools, and manufacturing process optimization.
- Related technical experience will be considered in lieu of education
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with avionics hardware lifecycle, including design, production, and testing.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Experience in working with advanced electronics manufacturing techniques, including PCB assembly and system-level integration.
- Strong leadership and project management skills.

Working Conditions:
This job operates in a professional office environment, but in a manufacturing company. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. BCT anticipates the application window closing approximately 40 days from the date the notice was posted.
