Contract is for the full school year, with possibility of extension for following year.

Looking at anywhere from 37.5hrs to 40hrs a week.

Position Overview:
Republic Educational Services is seeking an experienced and compassionate School Social Worker to work in Sault Sainte Marie, MI for the 2024-2025 school year. This is an in-person position (no remote work) with contracts beginning ASAP. The School Social Worker will collaborate with students, families, school staff, and administration to support the emotional, social, and academic success of students. You will provide assessments, counseling, and interventions to promote student well-being and educational achievement.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide individual and group counseling to address students’ social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
Conduct social work assessments and contribute to the development of IEPs and 504 plans.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to create intervention strategies that promote student success.
Facilitate crisis intervention and provide support during emergencies.
Serve as an advocate for students and families, connecting them with community resources.
Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the creation of student support plans.
Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of services provided.

Qualifications:

Hold a valid Michigan SW License.
Experience working with students in a school setting preferred.
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including families, teachers, and administrators.
A commitment to supporting students' mental health and educational success.
