Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) seeks a Liaison Engineer to join Space Launch System program at the Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans, Louisiana, a facility owned by NASA. Boeing works at these sites building the largest rocket in history in the world. The project will eventually take the world to Mars.
Position Responsibilities Include:
- Research and become knowledgeable of Boeing and engineering design principles to develop solutions to product and process issues for production or simple technical in-service issues.
- Assist with root cause analysis and drafting dispositions for design non-conformances.
- Use technical writing skill to assist system owner in preparation of technical communications.
- Collect and evaluate data on customer findings for product and process improvement opportunities.
- Support activities to identify deviations that could impact design intent and safety.
- Participate in Material Review Boards (MRBs) and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).
- Assist with design of interim structural repairs to restore damaged structure to original design strength capability.
This position is expected to be fully onsite in New Orleans, LA.
The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
- 1+ years of experience in an engineering classification.
- 1+ years of experience in product line engineering.
- Willing to work alternating shifts, holidays, and weekends to support customer’s needs.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace or Chemical Engineering Program with an ABET accreditation.
- 1.5 years+ production engineering experience on the Space Launch Systems Program.
- NASA experience.
Typical Education/Experience:
Associate (level 2): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Experienced (level 3): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Relocation:
Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. You must be within commuting distance or relocate at your own expense.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range:
Associate (level 2): 73,950 – 100,050
Experienced (level 3): 90,100 – 121,900
