Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) seeks a CNC Programmer to be responsible for the NC programming of manufacturing of flight articles.
Position Responsibilities:
- Work with machinists and metrology on compensations for hardware to meet drawing specifications.
- Support other areas in the factory such as robotic programming for machining and spray foam application.
- Learn additional equipment to support the program such as water jet, tube bender, and laser tracker.
To meet security standards and protocols, all work is performed onsite in New Orleans, LA.
Travel may be required up to 10% of the time; domestically depending on business needs.
This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility.
This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
This position is contingent on clearance verification and customer concurrence.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Ability to read blueprints with understanding of Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
- Experience programming CNC machines.
- Experience setting up and operating Manual and CNC machines.
- Experience in machining.
- Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Agreement to have a background check performed if you are eventually hired.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience working with Catia V5 programming.
- Experience using Vericut.
- Experience working with large structures is a plus.
- NC Programming experience and machine shop experience.
- Machinist certification, education, or documented training.
Typical Education & Experience:
Experienced (level 3): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+1 years' related work experience, 5 years' related work experience, etc.)
Lead (level 4): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+4 years' related work experience, 8 years' related work experience, etc.).

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range:
Experienced (level 3): 85,000 – 115,000
Lead (level 4): 102,000 – 138,000
