KBR is seeking an ATM-X PAAV Multimodal Transportation TERPS Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support our NASA Aeronautics Research Technology and Simulation (ARTS) Program for KBR’s Science and Space division. Within the ARTS program, KBR supports NASA’s PAAV sub-project, under the Air Traffic Management – eXploration (ATM-X) project, which aims to develop a digital data and service ecosystem to enable improved ATM decision making. The ATM-X project is engaged on multiple efforts across UTM, AAM, and a multi modal transportation research push. In order for us to effectively engage with community groups and develop stakeholder engagement and buy in, we are looking to bring on a subject matter expert in terminal procedure design.
The candidate will be expected to:
- Support the ATM-X PAAV by developing a strategic plan for report writing and provide additional TERPS training for ATMX personnel
- Support the ATM-X PAAV in developing a strategic plan for autonomous aircraft procedure design
- Support the ATM-X PAAV in coordinating with existing transportation organizations (i.e. FAA, DOT)
- Support the ATM-X PAAV in coordinating discussions on a multi modal reference architecture and interfaces with varied stakeholders
- Support the ATM-X PAAV in developing new and novel instrument flight procedures with ATMX partners
- Provide weekly task status reports, including time period report covers, tasks performed, tasks expected in the next period, expenses, forecasted expenses, and issues
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Education: HS degree or higher.
- 5-10+ years of experience or equivalent.
- Strong background FAA TARGETS (Terminal Area Route Generations and Traffic Simulation) tool as used by FAA AJV-5 Aeronautical Information Services Group
- Background with SIAP, FIX, and APWS FAA programs
- Ability to conduct analysis and studies focused on the current and future AAM state space
- Familiarity with a range of obstacle, aircraft performance, and airspace analysis with respect to FAA Order 8260 series
- Familiarity with airspace operations and airport operations
- Availability to attend remotely hosted meetings during business hours in Pacific Time
- Be able to use Microsoft Teams to attend virtual meeting and the other Microsoft Office products, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Prior experience supporting a NASA contract
BASIC COMPENSATION:
Air Traffic Control Subject Matter Expert (SME) - $130,700-$196,000
The offered rate will be based on contract affordability and the selected candidate’s working location, knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience, and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
