Job Summary:
Trane Technologies is hiring a NPD Material Planner in Clarksville, TN. The NPD Material Planner is responsible for managing phase in and phase out of components in New Product Development, Productivity, Quality, and Margin expansion projects. The NPD Material Planner will collaborate with enterprise strategic procurement, supplier representatives, engineering, design, quality, finance, logistics, scheduling, and assembly operations teams to solve problems, improve processes and key metrics. Responsible for administration and implementation of successful phasing in of new parts and phasing out of old parts from each project’s start to finish.
Responsibilities:

Update and expand part phase in/phase out plan for all new product development components. Define overlap plan for old and new parts ramp up and phase out. Establish contingency plans for part obsolescence.

Collaborate with procurement and warehouse to collect part data from new part suppliers for New Product Development PFEPs (plan for every part).

Order long lead time items, establish SOMI (Supplier owned and Managed Inventory), and other contingencies for new parts with long lead times.

Assist in new part/supplier set up in oracle and ensure that all part attribute data is properly and accurately enriched.

Partner with procurement to drive performance in supply base to implement SOMI, supply agreements, kitting, JIT, and other tools to reduce inventory and increase turns.

Performs daily, weekly, monthly and annual standard work processes to support material success for new parts and obsolete parts.

Actively participates in lean projects, A3 problem-solving projects, and Kaizen events. Additionally, supports and drives plant process improvements.

Identify and escalate material risks to inventory and delivery for supplier and part changes.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in engineering (mechanical or industrial), Supply Chain Management, Business or similar function required.

Computer & analytical skill (MS Office, Oracle, SAP, Excel etc…)

Knowledge of manufacturing, quality control, production planning process, warehousing and/or inventory control.
Key Competencies:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work cross functionally.

Oracle R12 experience is a plus

Alteryx/Tableau experience is a plus
