Job Summary
Trane in Carrollton, TX is hiring a Project Engineer. A Project Engineer is a hybrid role between Project Manager and Project Estimator. Project Engineer role will increase productivity and decrease the number of hand offs between fulfillment teams. The Project Engineer will support customers, and account managers in Dallas Fort Worth market, and or Shreveport, LA market as part of the TXNLA region.
Location: This position is open to hiring in Carrollton or Fort Worth, Texas, or Shreveport, LA.
Responsibilities:
- Performs construction plan review to meet customer requirements. Develops, evaluates, and discusses possible equipment solutions with appropriate Account Managers, Project Managers, Estimators, Suppliers and customers.
- Coordinates selection, pricing, and integrates equipment, controls, and services for small to medium projects.
- Responsible for creating detailed cost estimates. Resolves major deviations from scope with team after Project Scope Validation.
- Responsible for initial customer contact and project booking
- Responsible for submittal generation and overall accuracy of project from point of sale to closeout
- Project Engineer is a more technical Project Manager managing small to medium projects in the Light Commercial Unitary market.
Qualifications:
- Degree in engineering, engineering technology, business management, or other related areas; or 3-5 years of experience in the HVAC industry performing project management or estimating, engineering, construction management, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Working knowledge of all facets of construction including mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems and knowledge with the operation of HVAC systems, electrical systems and temperature controls.
- Knowledge reading and understanding blueprints and construction plans and specifications.
- Experience with computer estimating and word processing software programs.
