401(k) – You become eligible to make personal contributions beginning the first of the month following 30 days of employment. You become eligible for the ABM match beginning the first of the month following six months of employment. ABM matches your pre-tax and/or Roth contributions, dollar for dollar, for the first 3%. For the next 2%, ABM contributes $0.50 for each dollar you contribute. Your contributions and match are immediately vested.
Job Objective:
The Director of Transition Project Management will oversee the successful initiation, management, and execution of operational transitions for ABM, ensuring timely delivery of new contracts, services, and property management migrations. This role works closely with Business Development, Operations, and Solutions teams to drive seamless transitions from the award of contract through "Go Live" and beyond.
Job Description:
The Director of Transition Project Management is responsible for leading national, strategic, and APS (Integrated Facilities Management - IFM) operational transitions across all Industry Groups (IGs). This role ensures that transitions are carried out in alignment with the Scope of Work, schedule, and approved budget. The Director will collaborate with key stakeholders from HR, IT, Safety, Finance, and other departments to organize the transition team and ensure timely updates and resolution of issues throughout the process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage Transition Managers to ensure the successful execution of transitions.
- Develop, refine, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for transitions, utilizing the Management of Change (MOC) process.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across APS and IGs to ensure smooth transition planning and execution.
- Provide training and support to internal transition resources and clients as required.
- Govern the execution of the Operations Mobilization Strategy and Transition Process.
- Ensure that all transition plans reflect corporate standards, policies, and industry-specific needs.
- Oversee all assigned operational transitions within the CE/OS Department, ensuring they are completed according to scope, schedule, and budget.
- Review new contract scopes, collaborating with Solutions and Operations teams to define the necessary workstreams for the Transition Plan.
- Develop and manage transition plans using tools like Smartsheet, covering deliverables, timelines, risks, and reporting dashboards.
- Organize and facilitate collaboration with stakeholders, including client teams and ABM’s internal and regional teams.
- Monitor and address internal requests for changes, consulting leadership as needed.
- Host internal and joint transition calls to keep teams informed and aligned.
- Identify and resolve transition-related issues by coordinating with relevant Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
- Provide governance on due diligence processes, including scope development and validation.
- Maintain professional communication with clients and stakeholders via email, phone, presentations, and video conferencing.
- Lead Change Management efforts, ensuring effective adoption and sustainability of transition activities.
Basic Requirements:
- Strong operational knowledge of Facilities Management, particularly in the APS (IFM/IFS) delivery model.
- Familiarity with single-source services (e.g., Engineering only, Janitorial only).
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in transition management.
- Proficiency in transition management tools such as MS Excel, MS Project, Smartsheet, and QuickBase.
- Expertise in project management, including managing complex documentation, tools, and templates.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively across all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent time management, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally, managing relationships both internally and externally.
- Solid experience in managing multiple complex client transitions simultaneously.
- Strong knowledge of subcontract/vendor management.
