Body Shop Technician:
A body repair technician is able to repair vehicle bodies.
This is an entry-level position with a great opportunity to learn how to complete bodywork on commercial buses from tenure professional.

- Applicants will be required to obtain a CDL-B, Airbrake, DOT Medical Certificate and pass pre-employment drug screen and will be part of a random drug screen pool as required by USDOT paid for by MTA

Responsibilities
- Return the vehicle back to factory specifications
- Remove vehicle trim to gain access to vehicle body
- Can properly fill depressions with body filler and insure a quality repair
- Able to remove damaged parts using power tools and cutting torch
- Bolt or weld replacement parts in position using power tools and welding equipment
- Straighten bent automobile frames using frame wrack
- File, grind and sand repaired surfaces, using power tools and hand tools
- Replace bolts on panels and align properly
- Make cosmetic repairs
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
- Use special equipment to restore damaged metal frames and body sections back to original specifications
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 1-2 years body shop experience preferred but not required
- Effective communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills required
- Ability to adapt to and work effectively within a constantly changing environment
- Ability to work independently
- Must be18 years of age or older and hold a valid driver license for a minimum of 2 years
- Must have an excellent driving history; “more than three (3) recorded moving violations during the past two years will disqualify your application”
- Can read and speak English sufficiently
- Has to pass a DOT physical examination in accordance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
- Has to pass a DOT Drug/Alcohol screen in accordance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
- Has to pass New Hampshire Criminal Background check
- Any person applying for a job must inform Manchester Transit Authority of all previous employment as the driver of a commercial vehicle (covering the last ten (10) years).
