What does a successful ETL Developer do at Fiserv?
You will become a member of our data engineering team within the Fiserv Merchant Solutions Technology business area, particularly the Merchant Reporting Business. You will be part of an organization tasked with generating essential reports and various data products utilizing the Snowflake database warehouse and multiple databases in AWS RDS. You will engage in ETL programs to load data in real-time, near real-time, and end-of-day files. Our database capacity is 1.5PB, and you will be working with tables that exceed 100TB in size.
This dynamic environment will necessitate that you be an enthusiastic critical problem solver who can maintain platform stability and resilience while applying modern engineering practices and solutions.
What you will do:
- Create and manage an array of data design deliverables including data models, data diagrams, data flows, and corresponding data dictionary documentation
- Drive mapping of relational entities to use cases or business requirements and assisting in the development of data services
- Lead architectural decisions that enable scalability of data platforms
- Work with day-to-day practicalities of Agile Software Product Development Lifecycles such as Scrum, Lean Agile, Kanban, etc.
What you will need to have:
- 8+ years of experience in designing, developing, and maintaining data warehouses and applications
- 8+ years of experience in the ETL process using Oracle PL/SQL packages, procedures, Shell scripts, Perl, and Python
- 3+ years of experience in ETL development (like Informatica or Ab Initio) and data warehousing
- 3+ years of experience in Snowflake (big data cloud database), writing efficient queries, as well as reading and understanding the query plans
- 3+ years of experience in AWS Cloud-based technologies with universally available and scalable architecture
- 3+ years of experience in SQL, specifically with back-end databases including Oracle and PostgreSQL
- 1+ year(s) of experience in implementing high-volume transaction processing applications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, work, or military experience
What would be great to have:
- Experience in Java development
- Experience in CI/CD concepts and tools such as Git and Jenkins
- Experience in data science and machine learning using Python
- Experience with technologies such as Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, and Spark
- Experience in the financial services and/or payments domain
