Description:We are Lockheed MartinThis position is for a first line manager of the F-35 Flight Test Instrumentation (FTI) detail design team, part of Test & Evaluation, located in Fort Worth, TX. The team is responsible for generating detailed engineering documentation that drives fabrication, kitting, and installation of airborne systems that collect data during F-35 flight test missions. This manager position will lead a team of mechanical and/or electrical engineers and have OBS responsibilities over a small portfolio of F-35 FTI projects. Additionally, this role is expected to maintain 60-70% direct tasking to include, but not limited to, project lead duties, engineering reviews, detail design assignments, and aircraft modification oversight. Leadership responsibilities will include: review and maintenance of earned value metrics; development and maintenance of project-specific performance metrics; bid and proposal development and review; individual contributor performance assessments, recognition, and disciplinary actions; recruitment, selection, and training; discipline-specific competency development; and process development/improvement. This role also requires frequent coordination with internal and external stakeholders, including the flight test engineer community, flight instrumentation operations engineers, engineering planners, flight test instrumentation fabrication personnel, program management, and the customer. Minimal travel may be required.

Basic Qualifications:• Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline or appropriate degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education, with professional experience and specialized training commensurate with assignment.
• Experience working with Flight Test Instrumentation
• Experience as a team lead
• Experience working with suppliers/customers
Desired Skills:• F-35 Line of Business familiarity
• Experience with F-35 design tools and processes (CATIA v5 or similar, PDM, VAS, etc)
• Excellent communication/organizational skills
• Experience with Earned Value Management policies and practices

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
